Extensive menu of imaginative breakfast options. Sensible sized portions (not too huge), with fresh produce. Coffee adequate, service a touch surly.

We had a wonderful veggie breakfast. All the plates we saw looked tasty too! We sat outside and enjoyed the nice morning. Fun neighborhood restaurant a block off the strand.
Martha's is a gem of a little cafe that serves breakfast and lunch about 10 blocks north of the hustle and bustle of the Hermosa Beach Pier. It's a popular destination for bike riders from other communities but mostly you'll find north-end Hermosa regulars enjoying the outdoor tables and good American fare. There are also indoor tables but Martha's appeal...

We had lunch here and everything was very good. Nice atmosphere, an ocean view and good homemade food, you can't go wrong. Our waitress was spot on for timing everything and in turn she got a good tip. I would most definitely recommend this place for a casual breakfast or lunch.
Menu ample and varied though not exotic. Ingredients fresh, tasty, appealing. No wait on a weekday around 10. Sat outside to enjoy the ocean view;adjustable umbrella to screen. Staff attentive, cheerful, and right at hand for the coffee refill. Why look farther?

Wide variety on menu; good, friendly service; your dog can sit (tied to railing) on sidewalk next to your outside table.
Enjoyed the sunshine and good, basic food at Martha's. Hard to mess up breakfast! Ordered the chicago sandwich (egg, bacon, avocado and tomato on a bagel) which was delicious and the sundried tomato scramble. Worth a visit. Go early on weekends!
I love Martha's. It is packed on weekends and in high traffic season, and for good reason. They have a wonderful menu, and so many kinds of eggs benny you must go back to try. The portobello mushroom benny is my favorite.
It's not "on the strand" but just a little in from it, so you get a breather from...

We had read about Martha's so when we were staying in Manhattan Beach we walked down for breakfast. I think that if we lived here we may occasionally go there as a neighborhood thing because it would be convenient. But there was nothing innovative or especially creative. Normal food served in an acceptable manner.
