The coffee is awful and most pastries are loaded with lard. Not too friendly. Too expensive for what they have. Needs a complete makeover.

Delicious cookies, muffins, pastries and croissants. Great coffee. Great sandwiches to take to go and enjoy on the beach. A must stop in La Jolla!
From the Seven Seas Seafood Chowder to the cinnamon–pecan roll we had for desert, everything was fabulous, and at very reasonable prices. Owner and staff were friendly. We visited on a Friday: they still had a line just out the door at 1:00 p.m. Line did not dissipate until 2:00 p.m., which is a testament to how popular this place...

This La Jolla institution seems like a whole in the wall, but what a gem. Delicious fresh salads, soups, entrees, breads, pastries, cookies, fresh juice, sandwiches. Some of the fruits and vegetables actually come from the owners garden. You can eat at one of their little tables, but why not get it all to go and take off for a...

Had a lamb stew that was very good and lentil soup that was also. Not much to eat for kids except baked goods. Cookies were good also
Tour-guide Tim brought the group here for a bite during his LaJolla-Torrey Pines tour(see Things to do in San Diego). Outstanding French bakery with great soups, salads, quiches, hot entrees and cookies- get the Dirty Cookie for a midday treat. Great stop if you want a quick bite during your retail therapy session in downtown LaJolla.
We ordered a pear chicken salad which was magnificent and a half a turkey avocado sandwich with soup, which was also great. We were stuffed and didn't try the pastries, which looked great. The servers were not rude but weren't particularly nice.

Looking for a great sandwich while shopping in La Jolla, this is the place to go. Great bread, and great variety of sandwiches to choose from. Popular place for the locals.
Lots of choices for lunch although sometimes crowded but worth the wait. And still busy considering a Panera opened right next door!
