We are staying in Long Beach for a couple of nights, and walked to Pine Avenue to find a late night restaurant on a Thursday night. The first one we came to was L'Opera - our good fortune! We had a small meal - minestrone soup for my wife and Penne Arrabbia and a glass of house wine for me.... More

I met with two co-workers and two outside legal ocunsel for dinner. The service is good, but you should plan on a leisurely meal. The veal piccata was excellent and the others seemed to enjoy their selections as well.

I have not had dinner here yet. However have been here many times, to drink Port Wine at the bar. If your looking for a upscale, impressive place to bring somebody for dinner this is the place. It has the look and the flavor, you will not be disappointed.

If you are looking for an upscale 5 star experience in dining - this is it! Marvelous food - perfect staff - outstanding ambiance. Of course, you pay for this luxury - but it's well worth the price, none-the-less.

I ate here a couple years ago during a conference. I recall it was good enough to go back. That's not the case anymore. Very ordinary food with a mediocre list of wines by the glass. At the bar, an alarm goes off when food it ready. Odd. If the meal had been $50-60, I would have awarded 3/5. It... More

L'Opera is my home away from home dining room even though my home is only six blocks away. Consistently good food with good service and good management. L'Opera has to be the best restaurant in Long Beach.

The staff is very good, the steak is really nicely done and the wine list is studded with some real finds. I've now been 4 times (twice this month) and it has consistently performed. Are they setting the world on fire? No. Are they pushing the culinary envelope and breaking new ground? No. Are they consistently delivering very high quality,... More

L'Opera used to be a regular lunch spot for me when I was working in Long Beach. It is the best restaurant on Pine St. and one of the best Italian restaurants around. It is expensive but worth it. I have never had a bad meal there in all the 12 years I have been going there.

We really enjoyed our dinner at L'Opera. The calamari had a wonderful marinara sauce. The house salad was delicious...big enough to split. My veal piccata was done perfectly with fresh mashed potatoes and vegtables. Very nice, New York like atmosphere...you don't think that you're in Long Beach. Service is good; the server could have been a little more attentive. Valet... More

Food is awesome, the environment is great. Good wine list, and great servers. Wonderful lobster ravioli. Downtown Long /Beach in an old building. Great fun, nice for a date night.
