If you want to skip Starbucks or Peets, try this place which has a large assortment of coffees, locally-baked treats and free wi-fi with coffee purchase. You won't see as many tourists here - this is where the locals hang out. Not cheap, but friendly, well-brewed coffee.

Hip little place, with decent coffee and usually playing good music. Staff is not overly friendly, but friendly enough. And they take credit cards with a smile, even for less than $10 purchases!

Good coffee. My wife and her friend seemed to develop an addiction the their hot chocolate__had to have some every day. Murmured something about the whipped cream. You get the idea. Make an excuse to go there when in Mendocino or passing by.

Nitro coffee is the best, but all is great. The staff is always helpful and friendly. The hours can't be beat as its the only coffee place in town open before 8 am. They take credit cards as well, which not all places in town do.
