We were surprised with a complementary appetizer. The 2 appetizers we ordered were very good. We took our time we it and when our entree came...it looked like it had been sitting under the heat lamp. My rack of lamb fat and solidified....I turned it back and had to watch my husband eat his sturgeon for 1/2 hr.

The food, service and ambience were all very good. We really enjoyed our meal and would recommend this to restaurant to other travelers.

In the center of Mendocino, MacCallum House has great ambience and an excellent choice of well-prepared dishes.

Wanted to order the Rack of Lamb but decided against it because it would require 30 minutes to prepare -- so plan to stay awhile if that's what you're hungry for. We just spent 4 nights at the MacCallum House and enjoyed a lovely breakfast every morning. Delightful to get a table on the enclosed patio for dinner. No reservations taken for this area of the restaurant. Perfectly huge and delicious salad, flatbread and special pasta. Friendly Josh clearly enjoys his work as a server. Memorable, casual and a place we shall return to....
