If crowds are any measure of success then Stacks is BRILLIANT. I have been a repeat customer due to location and parking. Usually a wait for weekend brunch or lunches - large, traditional menu. Wait staff / host / hostess always pleasant and helpful. Food portions are large. Ambiance - entire place could do with a good cleaning.

Stacks is a wonderful restaurant, nice location, and thoughtful help. However, the food comes very fast, and they seem to want you out as fast as possible. Some of the food comes cold and has to be returned. This restaurant is almost to big to be intimate and friendly. It reminds me of a buffet type set-up.

As a Menlo Park resident, I'm always shocked to see people waiting around for a table here. But I think I know why: the management is really nice to some of the people they know, and crappy to everyone else. Regardless, the food isn't that great. Friendly staff, excellent hearty breakfast and lunch fare. Good quality ingredients. Festive surroundings. Lots of people there. Child friendly.

Eggs all day, good salads and sandwiches. great specials. Service is usually very good and you can almost always get a table for lunch without a wait

The service is very good, the food (breakfast) is o.k.. Toast was cold, potatoes a little "mucky", bacon was o.k.. All in all we'd go back for breakfast just because the people and service is so good.The place was absolutely packed on a Saturday at 10:30ish.

Stacks is one of those places that I've never been able to figure out why it has the reputation that it does.
