Cozy and interesting, this restaurant does Monterey justice. All our dishes were tasty and well presented. We had one minor goof-up and the waiter corrected it immediately without protest of any kind. I would go again.

This was quite a nice experience for us. Sometimes you need to eat but you don't need to eat a lot. There was a great selection on the menu. Since we were driving we did not drink anything but there great coffee. I would highly recommend the beet caprese and the spicy beans as appetizers. The waitress was very good...

The last time I came here was for my own goodbye party in a private room on the second floor. We went last night, no special occasion, just to have a nice dinner with an out-of-town friend. Service was almost a little too attentive, our server was such a sweetheart, but ended up removing plates before everyone was done, which...

I would like to thank you for taking the time to review Montrio Bistro. It sounds as if you enjoyed the evening but the one thing that stood out was clearing plates before everyone finished their meal. We train our staff to clear as people finish, but In the future if you let us know we will be more than...

When we first were seated, we were given a menu of very creative cocktails -- we each had to try one. Our choices were rather potent, so great sipping drinks. The menu has good variety, and when I told our waitress I needed gluten free food, she advised me that the sweet potatoes did have a flour coating and suggested...

Wonderful, creative menu. One of the best meals we've had in recent times. Very busy place, so make sure you have reservations.
It has been a few years since I was last at Montrio Bistro. I have never been disappointed. The service, we had Jose as our waiter, was exceptional. There were 6 of us, 4 adults and two 14 year olds. One of the 14-year olds is a very picky eater. Jose delivered on every request, he was amazing. If you...

I'll pass the positive review on to Jose as well.

I was looking for a restaurant I dined at in 1999 for my wedding reception. Same location...new restaurant. Fabulous food and wine. We enjoyed The Possessor by Tooth and Nail. I had a special with braised ribs...beyond description. My husband had the New York steak special. If we ever get back to Monterey, we will be dining here again.
The food is good, but not at these prices. This place has atmosphere, good service, location and all of these essentials, it's just that it's so overpriced as to sort of take off from what should be an over the top experience. Our steaks were excellent. Get your wealthy friend to pick up the tab and all will be well.
We are a family of 6 who travels quite a bit and enjoys good food. We were not disappointed here! Everyone enjoyed their meals so much we went back again a couple of nights later. Highlights were the steak special, the lobster blt, the lobster mac n cheese and the bistro fries. Don't forget to have dessert - the brioche...

Showed up on time for our reservation and had to wait. Busy and noisy. Had to ask twice for bread. Food when it did arrive was good, but not great, except that the bread was excellent.
Please accept my apologies dealing with poor service. We do strive to set high standards but we missed the mark this time.
Thanks for the review, it keeps us on our toes to hear both positive and negative comments.
