We had heard a lot of hype about this place, but left feeling underwhelmed. Six for dinner. Food arrived haphazardly. Some folks got orders and finished them while others sat without food. At one point, all six of us sat without food for a considerable time. Food was mostly just okay with some dishes missing the mark badly. Salmon tostaditas... More

Not a big assortment on menu, makes it easier to choose, or less options, depending on how you look at it. Some menu choices we had to ask what they were, not explained good. Called for reservations, and was able to get right in as soon as we got there, from 10 min away. It was noisy on phone, as... More

I love the idea of a sustainable seafood restaurant (and my husband loves seafood in general), so we ate here with two other couples while in town. The food was nice - I had the gnocchi, one of my favorite dishes of the evening, and a dungeness crab salad (sweeter than I would have liked). There wasn't anything surprising about... More

The food is delicious and the wine is very inexpensive. There was a long line outside the restaurant, so it is a very good idea to make a reservation. I left my sunglasses there, and they sent them to me, when I contacted them the day after. Great service! Thank you for a wonderful experience - we'll be back!

My husband's son recommended this restaurant, which we stopped off at on our way to the airport after a day at Monterey. He wasn't kidding. The service was impeccable and discreet. The servers looked very happy to be working there. We skipped the appetizers and went strait to the main dish. I had basil stuffed rainbow trout and red wine... More

We tried Passionfish on the recommendation of guests at our inn who had also been there, and we were thrilled. The building itself is unassuming, but the food was fresh and inventive. I had the brussels sprouts salad, which was incredible, followed by their sea scallops - fantastic! The wine list is very good and extremely reasonably priced - especially... More

This place doesn't look like much on the outside, but don't let that stop you. The food, service, and value are great. The wine policy really is different, they charge just about retail for their wines, they say its to assure you don't pass up a bottle that might pair well with the food. Works for me, and bravo to them.

We make sure to eat at Passionfish every time we visit the Monterey Bay area. Have never been disappointed by any of their dishes. It is our favorite restaurant in Pacific Grove/Monterey/Carmel.

Had dinner with friends while in the area, wish I lived closer than 2500 miles away. Every dish we had from starters to salads to entrees was excellent. A must do if you happen to be in Monterrey or close. Will be raving about this place for a long time. Great wine list to boot!

Not only were the fish dishes terrific, but the steak was a total surprise, absolutely perfect! The staff was very knowledgeable about every dish. Very friendly also.
