You get large portions of comfort food at a good price, but the noise level is way high. The service is very friendly and efficient.
Wow, if you like spicy food this is your place. We had gluten free jerk-chicken and a separate marinated pork. We also had garlic grilled veggies. Overall the food was good. Solidly spicy, not too expensive and plenty. We had DoorDash deliver to our home. (BTW www.doordash.com in palo alto).
My wife and I secured a reservation for a double-date. A great place to try 'new' cuisine family-style. The Ox-Tail is legit. The Jerk Pork is legit The Jerk anything is awesome. Drinks are delicious. For a restaurant in Palo Alto, you'll find this joint to be a good value-to-food price-point. It's not over the top-fancy, and Coconuts offers down-right... More
If you have never tried (or like) Jerk Chicken you MUST try the one these folks make! Dark meat absorbs the spices better and we get a side of Jerk sauce to turn up the heat even more. For a side dish they have what they call rice and beans but it is Jamaican Dirty Rice (complex flavors and not... More
Went here a few weeks ago and am just getting around to writing my review because I remembered I am going back this Friday. That says something if you are making a return trip. The food was great. Had the jerk pork which was seasoned very well with a little fire (spicy) which I like. It came with some potatoes... More
Great authentic and tasty carribean cuisine. Great for bringing family, a group of friends... Great for wanting to feel like you're on vacation but can't really get away. However, if you are the type who cares more about quality of food than the whole dining experience. Back A Yard is much better and cheaper!! Heard it is the same family... More
You can choose two items from the menu for lunch special, it comes with rice and salad. I always choose ox tail and jerk salmon. I can not tolerant very spicy food so I choose ox tail. You won't regret for these two choices. The portion is big and taste is great. I only came during lunch time. I was... More
The inside is kind of plain, but the food is very solid. It's a reasonable place for families, and my company often has group lunches here. The atmosphere isn't very upscale, more plain. The service can be a little uneven - it's a real "mom and pop" and sometimes the help seems a little new or poorly trained, but more... More
We strolled in here on a Sunday afternoon about 3pm so you would think this would be a great time to get good, fast service, right? NOT HERE....we sat outside listening to live Caribbean music by one artist. A server was flitting around helping other tables but never came to ours. Next thing I know she takes an order from... More
We dined early on a Sunday evening and looked like one of the first guests. As we were looking at our menus a large noisy and rude party was sat right behind us, bumping into the chairs. We moved, and then the waitress moved us to another room. The same thing happened as we were finishing our dinner. We had... More
