Fair prices for FANTASTIC food! It's owned by the same people who own Vive Sol in Mountain View, which is also a five-star experience. Their enfrijoladas ($14) are a vegetarian entree to die for, although I had to ask for it specially since it didn't appear on the menu. My fiance's mole enchiladas (also $14) had him dancing in his... More

The menu and food were OK, but not outstanding. Noise made conversations nearly impossible for the seven of us in our party, especially for those at the far ends of the table. The place is a step up from Taco Bell, with a more extensive menu, but not worthy of a really great rating. The burrito verde I ordered was... More

I go to Palo Alto Sol occasionally since I live close by, but I am almost never treated with respect or gratitude when I pick up my take-out orders. I only go because I like their mole poblano. It's expensive ($30 for mole poblano and 1 chile relleno). We almost always go to Estrellita in Los Altos, which has much... More

Family recipes continue to satisfy diners. Popular with Stanford students and other locals--better than most of the Mexican alternatives.

I hit up Palo Alto Sol on a weeknight and was pleasantly surprised by what I found. Not the best Mexican food around, but certainly worth a visit. I was with a small group and everyone was pleased with their meals, which ranged from seafood fajitas to enchiladas to burritos. You might not be blown away, but you will not... More

Great vegetarian options. Several sauces to try on enchiladas & burritos, with filling options including cheese & vegetables. 3 different salsas with the complimentary chips. The restaurant, Vive Sol in Mountain View (owned by the spouse) are decorated nicely. It can get busy & they do not take reservations.

Sol is a pretty nice spot, but seems to focus on the not so hard to find enchilada. They have a wide array of them, and some other odds and ends...Not a lot of risk taking going on.

I ordered the burrito asabado and the beef was cooked to perfection! It was extremely tender and didn't get stuck in my teeth. The flavor was also excellent. The only thing preventing me from giving a 5 star rating is I didn't feel the salsa, rice, and beans were that great but for the price it was a fantastic value.

Based on the tripadvisor review we chose Palo Alto Sol and we were not disapointed. We had a variety of fares, enchilada's, tostada's, tacos, mole pablano and more. The atmosphere is chic mexican with prompt courteous service, fresh chips and a variety of salsa's. My mole pablano was good, not the best I ever had, it seemed to have more... More

The staff is very attentive and the kitchen is very fast. Expect a very tasty rendering of standard Mexican fare. Some dishes really stand out, such as the enchilads del sol and the chicken mole. Itsw a big menu so theres lots to choose from. Usually full but you can get seated pretty promoptly. It is a lively lunch place... More
