I've eaten here before and found it a good enough experience to come back. The menu has several good options like the short rib tacos but I opted to go with the unfamiliar special, trout. It was incredibly good! So often when I deviate from what I know I end up regretting it but this time I was really pleased... More

I'm a local and a frequent diner here. I've had brunch, lunch and dinner during the week and on the weekends too. I prefer weekends by far. I don't know if they bring their best personnel on Saturdays and Sundays but those seem to be the best service days. I've tried pretty much all the fish dishes and love them... More

Went to this restaurant last Sunday evening with 2 business colleagues. Nice enough restaurant with very friendly staff. The food was good but not amazing and the atmosphere in the restaurant was very flat which I assume was because it was a Sunday. I am not totally discounting visiting this restaurant the next time in town. I will however just... More

Came here for brunch on a Sunday. Located next to one of the train stops and convenient underground parking garage, La Grande Orange Cafe is a real find. I suppose it's name meaning "The Big Orange Cafe" harks back to Pasadena's early heritage of orange growing which many of the settlers from Indiana adopted when they came out West. Decor-wise,... We had an early evening table inside, but outside seating is fantastic as well. This is a creative, fun, but not gimmicky menu....and always start with their signature deviled eggs! Service is the star here with amazing attention to diners' needs, even on a busy night. Highly recommended on the menu are tuna tartare, Luggage Room Smoked Fish Dip Plate,... More

The La Grande Orange Cafe is one of my favorite local restaurants. I have never had a bad experience here. My most recent meal at the La Grande Orange was dinner tonight. I met a friend at four and we had a leisurely three hour meal on the patio. I had the ahi tuna burger with a kale salad for... More

The food is great, cheap and an art. The staff are friendly and are always willing to help. The place was packed for lunch but we were able to chose a table for five and there's only three of us. Will be coming back for more.

Great patio area with Fried Chicken and Cinnamon Roll on the menu. Great caesar salad. Right next to the Gold Line (light rail) train station in Old Pasadena. We road the Metrolink train to Union Station in LA, then road the Gold Line to Old Pasadena on the way to the Norton Museum. The restaurant is very convenient for before... More

The lunch menu was full of enticing possibilities, and we opted for ahi tacos (made with beautifully-seared ahi and fresh tortillas) and short rib hash (served with fried eggs). The white sangria complemented the dishes quite well.

We visited during "dine LA" restaurant week and the special at this restaurant was a 3 course dinner for $25.00, plus we went on a Wed. which is their 1/2 price wine night. So, obviously, this was an exceptional value. The shrimp ceviche starter was quite large and very good (add some extra hot sauce), the short ribs really, really... More
