I used to live in Redwood City from 93 to 99. I ate at Max's quite often and really liked it. I was anxious to go back. To be honest it was pretty average. I only rated it a poor because it used to be so good. The food and the service have both dropped considerably in quality.

Very friendly staff, the drinks came fast, and the waiter gave me the time I needed to choose from the huge selection on the menu. The food came fast and was impressive in size, had to eat it all. Will defintly go back there to eay

This is as close as it gets on the Peninsula to a NY-style deli full-service restaurant. Great menu, nice large tables, and efficient service. Great for a business lunch.

Boy do we love going to Max's. Lots of options from a large menu, and we never are disappointed. Typically the pastry/desert counter taunts us as we eat, but we manage to resists. It is always a pleasure to eat at Max's. Easy parking and great food. The deserts near the entrance make sure that you are hungry by the time you are seated. The food was excellent and our server was very attentive. A good place to have a business discussion.
