Goshi is some of the best sushi I have ever had. From the Miso, to the sashimi to more mainstream rolls, always fresh delicious fish. Served in a clean environment by efficient servers. Love that they have live fish outside sometimes in the coolers being delivered. We go at least weekly, and it is always consistently good.

Three of us had dinner there this past Sunday evening. The place was packed all evening long. We managed to score a table by the door without a reservation...hint, make a reservation. I eat sashimi and am not interested in sushi, nigiri or any other Japanese food, so I can not evaluate them. I usually do not eat sashimi on... More

"Irasshaimase" - you will hear them shout this throughout the night. "Welcome - come on in". Excellence all around. Gracious people, friendly and attentive. My husband lived in Japan for 2 years and said this was the best Japanese restaurant he has been to in the States. The sushi and sashimi was so fresh. So delicious, in fact that we... More

I am so fussy with my Japanese food and this restaurant was brilliant. The service was welcoming and it was busy with everyone enjoying their meals. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu. A nice laid back setting.

Well, assume that they have great sushi in Japan but have not been there, yet. All I can say is Goshi is the best I have enjoyed to date in California. Stumbled upon this gem by accident during a visit and have been back twice -- it only gets better. When it comes to sushi there are three measures for... More

For those who love eating Kama Kanpachi (grilled amberjack cheek), Kama Hamachi (grilled yellowtail cheek) this is the place to go! The day we visited they have so many other choices (look at the manu on the white board for today's manu): Bluefin Tuna cheek, Salmon cheek on top of the regular choices you would see in most of the... Goshi reminds me of when I lived in Tokyo. Great food, tucked away, tight quarters, attentive service, very Japanese.

Goshi's is my very favorite restaurant not only for the delicious and beautifully prepared food but also for the friendly and capable staff who greet me by name. The fish is fresh and lots of local choices. There are lots of veggie choices and great salads. Both of my kids enjoy Goshi's. I enjoy an early lunch there the most... More

ooooooh goshi's i love you so much. your garlic chip roll haunts my dreams. this is, by far, the BEST sushi in san luis obispo. i love everything about it. from yuki, to the sketchy stairs to the bathroom, the warm greetings, knowing at least 2 other couples in there at almost all times, the intimacy of the dining room,... I was surprised to find such a good Japanese restaurant in this city. The food was very good and the many small portions of my sashimi combo was so filling at $22. This restaurant has Japanese cooks/workers so it is visually authentic. The restaurant was full at 8 pm on a Sunday night so I felt good about eating here.
