Taking a coffee break here was a great idea situated across from the presidio. They brew a great cup!
Owned by two former professional cyclists, Aaron and Kim, the Handlebar brings that same focus and dedication to detail to in-house roasting, espresso beverages, brewed coffees, teas and their selection of baked goods from local bakers. All is served by a very friendly and informed staff. There is no finer place for a cup and a sweet in Santa Barbara.
We're used to good coffee living in San Francisco so we looked up reviews and found this place and it was great. Really good coffee and some really muffins and croissants. Highly recommend to try the almond croissant. My wife had a gluten free muffin and it was really good. Seating is only outside in a lane way but the... More
My girlfriend went there a couple of times and was raving about it, so we went together. It was very surprising in its quality, seriously! I hardly ever order cappuccino because I don't like the sort of foamy milk thing they do in this country, but it was just sort of an amazing and had sort of a rich blended... More
Coffee is awesome and staff is courteous & knowledgable. My favorite is their latte or cold brewed coffee. They roast & grind beans onsite. Check hours as they cater to the downtown working clientele.
Cute little place off the main State St area, owned and ran by a former pro-cyclist (hence the name). Besides making amazing coffee (comparable to the best places we go to in Brooklyn), the man running the place gave us some good tips for places to eat and gave us a lovely welcome to SB! Locals place but anyone will... More
Just off the main area of shopping in Santa Barbara, we walked right past it the first time we were looking for it. We purchased their Guatemala and Ethiopia coffee beans and they are both excellent. Also purchased an iced coffee while there. A nice change from the usual Starbucks down the street.
I was in SB for a short cycling trip and stumbled upon this place. Awesome, cant say enough! Great coffee, great local food, and a staff who was all about customer service. Glad to know there are still places like this! Grab a cup if you are in town.
I love this place because it is a welcome contrast to the big coffee store chains. The coffee is served in porcelain cups and Mason jars. The outside seating has a european cafe feel to it. They medium roast their beans on the premises. The baristas always seem to know someone in line which gives it a small town local... More
