A romantic night. The tasting menu is fantastic. Service is excellent. Bring the credit card and enjoy the night. Wines are pricey....pay corkage.

Overrated place, the food is good but not great so why this shows up on all list in LA as one of the top restaurants I don't get. Service was below standard for such a place, our waitress was more interested in the table next to us than in ours leading to empty wine glasses, 10 min before water was...

The food is simply outstanding. What I really liked about the place is the staff. Very professional, respectful and friendly at the same time. In these kinds of restaurants the staff can occasionally be a little snooty but not at Melisse.
We save up for this one! Both our pocket books and our stomachs. Wonderful wine list, great menu and lots of attention from all who work there.
Chef Josiah Citrin holds this place as a tip top venue. Service is impeccable, wine list outstanding, food is extraordinary and in my view the best food one can find in LA for that money.
We also enjoyed the fact that Josiah is out speaking with the clients, hearing what they have to say and even supervising the service. He...

A great restaurant like Melisse deserves a big full review with lots of details about the dining experience emphasizing the subtleties of taste, presentation, and texture. Too bad I waited several weeks to get to this chore. I am left with a buzz of impressions.
First, I must mention the cost, which is really really significant. TripAdvisor currently lists price...

My wife and I recently went to Melisse for our second visit, and we were both still impressed.
We went on a Thursday evening, and had a romantic time there. We both ordered the Carte Blanche menu and I had the wine pairing to go with it. Be prepared to spend some time there, but it was all worth it....

I must say that our experience of Melisse was affected by the location of our table for two. We were seated in line with the kitchen doors, so the long procession of people who are involved in serving dishes at Melisse were constantly moving past our table, making it difficult to have a moment alone. Each time a course is...

My husband and I dined there for Valentines. It was a wonderful experience! Incredible food, friendly attentive service, amazing wine list (we have never seen Screaming Eagle on a resteraunt wine list). It's expensive but it's worth it!!!
I really enjoyed the food here. Everything tasted exquisite and fresh. Service was top notch. My water glass was always full. Even the cheapest wine was amazing. I can't rave anymore at how I think all French food should taste this great. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because they threw out our cork when we asked...
