We ate several meals at Breakaway during our trip in April. We were a party of 14 one day and 19 another! 11 kids included! The staff was extremely accomodating and everyboday ate well. in fact, all the kids wanted to do was to go back to The Breakaway--and it was not a hard sell for the parents. Very good... More

Went to the cafe based on a few good reviews on Tripadvisor but wouldn't go again. The cafe was not busy when we got there so we were seated quickly. We ordered two coffees when we sat down which seemed to take too long to arrive. When they did arrive my decaffinated coffee was cold. I asked for a new... More

Had a wonderful breakfast here with friends on our way up the Sonoma valley for a wine weekend. Our entrees included a great omelet, Joe's Special, huevos rancheros, and La Bamba bowl. Everything was super and we didn't eat again until dinner. Also, our waitress was terrific. Will definitely come back.

Good Morning, My husband and I have recently moved to Sonoma and were recommended by some good friends to go and have breakfast at this "Breakaway"place on HWY 12. My Husband and I did... just to be highly disappointed. As we entered (a Wednesday morning), no one assisted us regardless of our 10min wait at the entrance and having more... More

Thank you for taking the time to review my cafe. I am very pleased that you enjoyed our food and our iced tea but of course, I was upset by your report of poor service. I want to assure you that we aspire to GREAT service. We have been a popular and successful restaurant here in Sonoma for over 15... More

My wife was able to get breakfast, and I could get lunch. Both were great. The service was great. We would recommend this place and definitely come here again

Don't let the grocery shopping center setting fool you, this is a hidden gem in plain site. We (spouse and two kids) had a breakfast here with some local friends who told us it was their favorite breakfast place. We were not disappointed. Great breakfast dishes all with a Sonoma flare. Well done, Breakaway. We will be back next time... More

I really like breakfasts and lunches... I especially liked the great flavorful chicken salad... The Breakway, staff keeps your coffee cup filled, inquires as to your needs and are very attentive. The food always reminds me of dishes which are home made.

Have eaten here several times and have not been disappointed with the food or the service. No pretension of haute cuisine but good basic American food. Simple is better here. I recommend the hamburger in particular and breakfasts too. Service is friendly and the clientele seems a loyal local bunch

My husband and I needed a late dinner after a long day of wine touring. We both ordered grilled chicken salads to go and were pleasantly surprised with the fast service and great flavor of the salads! Great spot for a late night takeout dinner!

Looking for a place to meet an old friend for a long lunch while passing through the Sonoma area, we happened on this place. It was perfect, and judging from the number of booths occupied by people who were clearly there for the food and a conversation, we were not alone in thinking this. A lot of locals meet here....
