My wife is partly of Polish extraction and spent her first 18 years at many gatherings of extended family and abundant Polish dishes. Thus, when I suggested a dinner at Red Square (RS), she said, "Are you SERIOUS?!?!" But she eventually relented, and is glad...she did so, as am I, because we enjoyed a delightful and delicious meal at surprisingly moderate pricing ($179 inclusive of food, two drinks each, shared app, two mains, shared dessert, taxes, fees , and tip). Don't go to RS for ambience or decor; it's what would be called "tacky" in the 1970s. Also tacky: the completely inappropriate music of 1960s "soft rock," when something more Eastern European would have been more in keeping with the cuisine. RS isn't easy to find, tucked away at mid-block on Larimer between 15th and 16th in the heart of Denver's downtown LoDo neighborhood. The restaurant's space is about half bar and half dining room. We arrived just after 5 pm, with only one table occupied, but in less than an hour nearly every table was taken. My final advice: Don't be put off by prejudices (such as mine) regarding Russian and Eastern European meals. There's nothing to fear at RS; be adventurous! You'll be glad you did.More

We enjoyed long conversation lingering over bites and drinks with overseas friends in this very pretty and nicely quiet but not too quiet spot. The food was fine, but for us the real highlight was the extensive infused vodka menu, brought in charming little shots...so we could try different ones. They are open until 1:30, so refreshing after so many Denver-Boulder restaurants that roll up the carpets around you at 9:30 or 10. Excellent service, and several dishes that we enjoyed, particularly the appetizers. A great place to snack, drink, and linger in a lovely setting.More

So my girlfriend and I were visiting from out of town on business. Our intention was to try something new and romantic for out out of town date night. The Red Square Bistro is a bit off the path of the high end dining downtown,...Denver. We intended to eat somewhere at Union Station. Though the place was nice, It had too much going on to enjoy a romantic evening. So I went on Yelp and google. We found Red Square Euro Bistro! We were not disappointed!!! It is darker on the inside. Not the easiest to find as you have to meander around some buildings. It is nestled in the back of a downtown business complex. They seemed to be having a disco themed party going on in a private room but it we didn't know it until we were done with dinner and saw through the window of the private room outside. We sat at a table where one side was on a couch. It was cozy and nice for a romantic date night. We easily made reservations through Google. Once there we were seated promptly and told of the specials and drinks available. After some time, we made out selections. The drinks came within a few minutes. THEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT! all the craft cocktails were Russian inspired themes and flavors. I ordered the Black Bear as it had Maple Syrup in it. IT WAS AMAZING!!! Dinner came and the presentation was perfect. I ordered the goulash and my Girlfriend had ordered the Chicken Kiev. Both Dishes were amazing and full of savory flavor! Joseph was attentive and made us feel at home. Always checking on us but never too much to make us feel we had to leave. We actually felt like guests. The pricing was nominal for a sit down restaurant in the area. Less than I expected to spend for the area! Less that $100 which included drinks and tip! I will for sure return to this location!More

We were looking forward to trying Russian cuisine. We ordered golubcy, borscht, traditional beef stroganoff, lamb chops. None of these dishes tasted like Russian food we know, they were bland and tasteless, didn’t have any salt. It is hard to spoil lamb chops, but even...they had no taste. I asked our waiter if the cook was Russian and was told that he was...big disappointment.More

Beyond the Vodka list being impressive, we thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of this restaurant. Our waiter Joel was beyond knowledgeable, he sincerely cared about what we wanted and everything the restaurant offered. The food was all just as delicious as was described. We also met...the owners, whose thought, care & determination went into this restaurant and they were delightful to talk too as they graciously took the time to sit and talk. As a visitor to Denver, I would recommend this nice & quaint spot.More

The new owners of Red Square, Max and Irina, are passionate about providing delicious food and outstanding service. While the vodka is yummy, the food steals the show! We tried almost all the starters and they were great. Loved the latkes! The Chicken Kiev was...perfect. The Stroganoff was tender and flavorful. We can't wait to return and dine in the winter huts on the patio! It will be quite the adventure!More

Well, I must start by saying how sad we were that Pasha retired but we wish him the best. He always made our meals here memorable. The food and vodka are still outstanding though, so we will keep coming back. We came for a pre-show...early dinner on a weekday so we were the first dinner patrons that evening. We had a Groupon which has had some restrictions added since we last used one but it was still a good deal. We started with a carafe of Double Cross Slovakian vodka and the duck confit strudel, which was outstanding. We both tried the pork chop at our server's suggestion and I was completely blown away at how yummy it was. My husband's was cooked a little more than mine, so it was a bit dry but mine was perfect. The sides of polenta and Brussels sprouts were chosen well and really complimented the pork chop. The pear tart, also recommended by our server, was delicious too.More

Seemed like a cute place, well I guess we didn't fit the part. Ivan the bartender was Rude, could care less when we wanted to order, and only 4 people at the bar on a Monday. Didn't have my choice of vodka, Boyfriend ordered a...beer, guess that was wrong too... just very rude ! Disappointing......More

Right in downtown Denver, you could miss this place because it is tucked behind some stores, just off the street. We tried the stuffed cabbage, Brussels sprouts, and beet salad. Everything was amazing; presentation, taste, and service. This was a great place to get a...bite.More

My family and I went here looking for a Russian place close to where we were in Denver. This was a pleasant surprise with a fun twist on the Russian food my family and I love! We didn’t have any meal we just ordered about...five appetizers and then their three desserts. We are definitely going back.More

I went here on the recommendation of my husband from one of his previous business trips in the area. It was a Wednesday night in winter so the place was fairly empty. I was seated right near the fireplace. The service was fantastic. I had...the Russian standard martini with one olive a little dirty based on the waiter recommendation. He was so good with the drink, I let him order my food. He selected the Sea bass and it was to die for. The skin was so crispy yet the fish was moist and not over cooked. It was served on a bed of white beans with some tomatoes in a lemon broth. The broth was so good I lapped it up with the bread that was served earlier (bread served warm!!)More

Just stopped in for a few drinks before dinner and ended up having apps and a few more drinks than normal... Food and infused Vodkas were off the charts, and they have a specialty near and dear to my heart; Pierogies. Yum. Ivan was awesome...and provided above and beyond service. I HIGHLY recommend this place.More

I went here on a Thursday evening with a coworker while visiting Denver for business. It is rather difficult to find and located in Writer Square in a very cool and lively part of town. I was surprised at how empty the place was, particularly...with the positive reviews. I had the linguini pasta, which was very good. My coworker had the whole trout, which they enjoyed. The prices were fine and the service was great.More

I decided to check this place out after reading the, generally, positive reviews. When I told my colleagues we were having Russian food, they all made a face. However, they really enjoyed the food and this place will be in our rotation for the next...Outdoor Retailer show. I made reservations for nine people at 7 pm. I was surprised I could snag a table during the busy convention. I had concern that this place wouldn’t be good, but that soon changed. The restaurant is about a ten minute walk from the convention center. It’s only a few steps from the free 16th Street Shuttle. We entered, but there was no host. The bartender came round and seated us immediately. The place was half full with the other tables being big groups (a good sign, in my book). Our server, Joseph, was attentive even though he seemed to be the only one managing the groups...in any case he came round to make sure everything was taken care of. The menu offers up a variety of Eastern European/Russian dishes such as stroganoff, pierogis and beet soup. The menu also offers up a variety of vegetarian dishes including linguine with cream sauce and peas. We started with a few appetizers including roasted Brussel sprouts, beef dumplings and pierogis. My colleagues ordered dishes such as the classic beef stroganoff and a surf and turf dish. There is an extensive wine and (naturally) vodka menu. I didn’t opt for the latter, but enjoyed my house red ($9/glass). From the apps to the mains, everyone really enjoyed their meals. The sprouts were a highlight: crisp leaves but tender insides. The pierogis had a good bite and were filled with a luscious cheese. We all made room for dessert and I definitely recommend the lemon tart and mille-layer cake. I also suggest sharing desserts instead of individual portions - you can then taste each type and they’re all very rich. All in all, a really great experience and we are looking forward to returning. We paid $450 inclusive of tip. Joseph reminded me that he already included tip, since our party had more than eight people. If you’re looking for something different, Red Square definitely delivers. The foods are well-portioned and priced reasonably. Definitely recommend.More

Chose Red Square Euro Bistro based on the reviews here. As we walked in it looked deserted and I was going “oh, oh...this is going to be a bomb!” Totally wowed but the cuisine all the way around from the appetizers to the entrees. We...weren’t here for the vodka but the mixed drinks were very good and the bottle of Troublemaker (red blend) was outstanding. We had three apps: the Pelemeni, Pierogies and the Brüssel Sprouts. All delicious and even kept the sauce from the Pierogies to dip the House made bread in. The five entrees included the beef stroganoff (deconstructed and awesome), lamb, bistro steak, duck and linguini pasta. Each were excellent. Three different desserts and each was as tasty as the apps and entrees. The decor is dated and our bench seat lost their springs a long time ago. We sank quickly to the bottom and felt like we were sitting on the edges of 2x4’s. The men’s restroom wasn’t the cleanest. Service was very good and the server knowledgeable with good recommendations. The food makes a visit here worth your while. We walked away very pleased!More
