This place is nothing fancy to look at but that's not the point. The middle eastern food is good and not overpriced. I also enjoy their sage tea and their home made ice cream. They are very friendly and welcoming to diverse types of people which means a lot to me.

You will not be disappointed with this restaurant. It's on the main drag downtown, easy to find. We ate here for lunch, which was a good time to go; it wasn't super crowded. We had the chicken shawarma, hummus plate and we were thrilled! It was so delicious and filling. The staff was very gracious. We asked for some of... More

Here's the problem: Had I never seen the reviews on Tripadvisor, I would have never found this place. As it's the #1 rated restaurant in Manitou Springs, I made it a destination. Since I had such high hopes, I was somewhat disappointed. But then I found myself judging too harshly because of inflated expectations. If I has just stumbled in... More

You will definitely not be disappointed in the food or atmosphere. It doesn't look like much from the outside but when you go in, the atmosphere is perfect for a romantic evening. The food is delicious as well.

The most accommodating, tasty, good for you food I've been able to get anywhere. This place rocked my breakfast world. As a gluten and dairy intolerant customer Sahara's staff were willing and able to make a quick meal that fit my dietary restrictions... AND it was prepared well and tasted terrific! There was no fuss or long wait for my... More

The black tea was sweet and tasty - that was probably my favorite part of the entire meal! I had a lamb gyro (sans turnips and onions) that very good as well. We ordered cheesy fries which, while crispy, were not what I expected... they had nacho cheese poured over them rather than real cheese. That's the only part of... More

While vacationing in Colorado Springs we needed a place for dinner after a long hike. I had read all the reviews of The Sahara Cafe and they were very mixed. Some of the confusion seemed to come from diners not being familiar with mid-Eastern food. My husband and I are both fans of shawarma and gyros so we thought we... More

This was absolutely the best falafel, hummus, and pita bread! The decor of the place doesn't look too great, but the food is amazing.

The place was uncrowned but the service was VERY slow. I ordered a beef kabob but it looked more like a dog turd. Not a lot of food for the money and it was served on a plastic plate. I would NOT go back again!
