I would probably give the food a 4 as it is good but I give it a 5 over all. We go to Silverton fairly often and Handlebars is our favorite. Its just fun and has a great atmosphere, very fast and friendly service with people that are very service oriented and accommodating. Its not spectacular food wise bit it... More

When you get off the train you'll find the restaurants that are close to the station are their because people are lazy and hungry. But if you walk uptown and turn to your right then J walk a little, then down a backstreet, you will come to the best place to eat, Handlebars. The food is good and different. I... More

One of my favorite restaurants in the U.S. Strange signs and various animal heads hanging on the wall, a big woodburning stove that heats the place up and your basic mining town ambiance! Buy a Handlebars t-shirt, take a picture of yourself wearing it somewhere on Earth, send it in and you'll find it hanging somewhere on the wall in... More

My family and I have been traveling to Silverton over the past 27 years and we've eaten at Handlebars at least once each trip. The place never seems to go out of style. The food is good and the atmosphere is perfect after a day of hiking or sight-seeing. You can also always count on good, friendly service at Handlebars.... More

We had driven to Silverton from Durango and arrived early in the morning – we had heard that everything shuts early (depending on the time of the last train) – however we weren’t informed that most places don’t open until the first train (from Durango) arrives which is around midday. (early Oct). Handlebars was one of the few places that... More

This place was recommended to us by the bellman at the Straterr Hotel in Durango, and he was right on. The walls were covered with mining stuff, and trophy animals. The food was good and the waitress was very attentive even though it was busy from the people on the train. The bread pudding for desert was to die for. It... More

We had lunch here in August 2012 and arrived just before the first train. Service was great and the food was delicious. The walls are covered with old west memorabilia, mining artifacts, and stuffed animals. If you arrive with the folks from a train, the restaurant may get crowed and you may have to wait to be seated. When we... More

We only stopped here as we were strolling thru this town and it was one of the neatest places you would ever see. Didn't eat but drinks were great And the food they were serving looked fabulous, in fact we wish we had eaten here. Waitress and people inside were super friendly...All kinds of decorations on the walls. Must visit... More

Food was very good, service was attentive. Buffalo burgers were great! Restaurant gets very crowded when Durango and Silverton train pulls in so if you go early or a little later you'll be able to relax, look around at all the interesting things on the wall and all the taxidermy. If you are squeamish about stuffed animals looking at you,... More
