I just got back from this place last night and couldn't wait to give it a 5 star review! I live literally only a mile or so down the road and have driven past here thousands of times, and I now very much regret never checking it out sooner. It is so cute inside, and there are actually a decent... More

Don't come here if you're looking for fancy ambiance, but if you want great, authentic Hungarian food, this is your place. Reasonably-priced, hearty goulash will warm you to your core on a rainy day.

hidden in a residential area is a real treat. it is small and homey like your own house. they make true hungarian food.the goulash is great.the owner is a older hungarian man.he turns out wonderful meals for a very good price. the desserts are great and are only 3 dollars. this place is worth the trip.

International cuisine is not easy to find in Danbury if you want something other than Italian, Indian or Asian. The Goulash is an exception. We have been going there for years and have introduced countless friends to it as well. It is a little difficult to find since it is in a residential neighborhood and off the beaten path. However,... We had plans to be in Danbury so I was looking on the internet for restaurants, never imagining there would be a Hungarian one. Well we all agreed we should try it and were not disappointed. I'm glad I knew it was unusual, being in a house in a residential neighborhood would have made me question going in otherwise. The... More

Many people are unfamiliar with real goulash. The authentic dish is served here and it is so tender and tasty. Simply adding a massive amount of paprika does not a goulash make. Goulash Place makes it with the right cuts of meat and slow-cooks it to perfection with the other ingredients. When I long for good authentic Hungarian food, this... More

I have been going there since it opened. Magda, who has passed on gave the dining floor life!. I never ordered anything. She always knew what I wanted and made nasty comments about my limited ability to stray from the same chicken paprikash I ordered for so many years. She treated me like a bum and I loved her for... My husband and I found this place accidentally, while driving through Danbury. We decided to go in and...were surprised in a very good way! Food is amazing and ridiculously cheap! An entree is $11.75 and appetizers are $3.50. They have stuffed cabbage, goulash, papricas, roast pork and all other goodies, as well as strudels and home made bread! We will... More

I have eaten lots of good Hungarian food in my days. This restaurant's food disappointed me. Their meatloaf had so little meat in it should be called "breadloaf". The goulash wasn't that great either. I think I can do much better cooking the stuff at home. There were some positive things, though: The chicken soup was decent, just a little... More
