Went to have lunch there in last meek, mid-October 2013, and the windows were papered over with a "closed" sign. Sad, as it was a nice addition to Greenwich's trattorias.
I absolutely adored Toscana! It was "deee-vine!" I've no idea how it got some of the reviews it got, but I have absolutely NO complaints about Toscana - none. We went on a Saturday for the period just before dinner. The place was totally empty. I had to ask if there were on siesta! The guy behind the bar welcomed... More
I have dined here several times over the past couple of years. The last time I ate there will definitely be the last. No wonder the place was almost deserted. I went there with my girlfriend and her parents for a nice dinner. My pasta dish was inedible. It took me a while to figure out why it was so... More
I really enjoyed my dinner. We had very good service. The waiter had good suggestions and was friendly and well informed on the menu. We shared a rucola with red beets salad that was very fresh. I had spaghetti with sea food cooked with a hot red sauce and my wife salmon. Both were well prepared. The restaurant has outside... More
My wife and I just enjoyed the most enchanting dinner made possible by Paul and his staff at Toscana. For me, dining is an art; the atmosphere, the service, the music, and of course the food. The food is incredibly prepared and the portions are plentiful. The staff was very attentive. I always love it when the owner, himself, comes... More
This Italian restaurant is a not to miss spot in Greenwich even though it isn't on the Avenue! The decor is very bright and colorful and the food is amazing! They even have a great lunch special if you have a hearty appetite in the middle of the work day for $9.50 - if you aren't afraid of a mid-day... More
We were very disappointed eating brunch. We had a1pm reservation and were seated about 15 minutes late. Once seated we were told they were understaffed and were apologetic about it. We decided to order quickly hoping it would help. It did not. It took about 1 1/2 hours to get our three courses. We ordered salads for first course- on... More
We have now been here four times and every time is better than the last. Don't understand, at all, anything but positive reviews. I had a wonderful bread salad and the linguine with Manilla clams. Both were nothing short of perfect.
We eat out in Greenwich often and there are many fine restaurants in town. This is my first time trying Toscana and it was quite the disappointment. The food was fair nothing to brag about. But the service was absolutely terrible ! When we arrived and seated after 10 minutes a waiter came over and asked us if we wanted... More
I gave Toscana a rave review last time, for its exceptional décor and good food. But on this revisit I noticed an aspect which is one of my foibles - the place is now dirty. Not dirty insofar as food prep is concerned. I have zero health concerns, it should be stated, but just tired and dusty all around now.... More
