This is our first time writing a review on Trip Advisor. We were on our way home and were passing through Old Saybrook and checked out Trip Advisor for a place to eat. We found the #1 restaurant was Tissa's Le Souk du Maroc. The dining room was very quaint and cosy with just 3 tables inside. They also have... More

This was simply the best sandwich ever! The Chicken Bleu was so fresh and the flavors can only be described as scrumptious. The sweet and savory apricot sauce, bacon, blue cheese and spinach layered over the grilled chicken on ciabatta melts in your mouth. The home made hummus was the best I ever experienced. Extremely friendly staff. This is a... More

Stopped in here thinking we would have ice cream. As soon as we walked in the door the Moroccan food aromas started to make our mouths water! We decided to do lunch instead. The sandwiches were, in a word, delicious. One of us had the chicken bleu...simply heavenly. The other had the Tuscan chicken, which was also out of this... More

I've been coming to tissa's forever, and i have yet to figure out how to DESCRIBE this place to people. It's Moroccan food, but it's assembled into sandwitches and wraps that are unlike anything you can get anywhere else. It's so unique, I've stopped trying to understand how they put them together. I just ask them to 'give me something... More

I believe the offiical name of this place is Tissa's Le Souk du Maroc and The James Soda Fountain. Besides ice cream which apparently is made in Avon, CT, the food at Tissa's is North African (Moroccan) and Mediterranean Fusion. Located in a very historic building full of charm, there are two sections to the place. One side has dining... More

We've lived in the area for about 15 years, and only about 1 year ago did we notice this restaurant. But we thought it was an ice cream shoppe. We didn't know it was a Moroccan lunch deli until we did a search for restaurants on Trip Advisor. For sure, we didn't see a sign on the outside that said... More

We enjoyed a lovely dinner a few nights ago. The restaurant is small (make reservations if your party is greater than 2). The aromas struck us as we entered, and the coziness made us feel right at home. Service was prompt and genuinely friendly. The food was outstanding, very authentic, flavorful, and plentiful. We took home leftovers and enjoyed them... More

Usually you have to visit a large city to sample ethnic food but my friends and I have been coming bakc to this unique restaurant for the past year to celebrate our birthdays and it never fails to be a fun experience. Stopped on way home to Boston from new haven, looking for lunch. Very pleasantly surprised by wrap we bought and the soup . Well worthwhile stop! Morrocan food - great flavor! Really really good!
