My friends & I stayed at the SandKey Marriot for a few days in May and Backwater's was our go-to after beach happy hour spot for cocktails and apps. Walking distance from the hotel, good food and great prices. Also, check out thier Sister Restaurant on the same boardwalk, Maggie May's -- wonderful breakfast!

Each time we visit Clearwater Beach, our family tradition includes dinner at Backwaters. The excellent food, (if hog snapper is "in" GET IT for sure!)upbeat staff, and ambiance (not flashy but inviting, especially sitting outside on the water)are always top notch.

Food was average fair, nothing to write home about. Parking is a major problem on the weekends. Service was good and Jen, our waitress, was friendly and accommodating. Prefer the outdoor dining to indoor but make sure to pick a nice evening.

We love Backwaters and frequently lunch eat in the outdoor patio. The inside of the restaurant is old, dark and needs a renovation!! The patio is right on the water and you get fresh air and a lovely view while you eat! Great sandwiches, burgers and onion rings!
