Great food, close to the action on Dearborn Street. Try the Chile Rellenos it is our favorite. Stuffed with either cheese or ground beef....I get hungry just thinking about it.

The chips and salsa were very good, however, the rest of the meal was average. The portions are large but the entrees were just "OK" and not memorable. The margaritas were overpowered by the lime mix and too little tequila. The service was friendly and attentive.
Visited Compadres for dinner on a recent weeknight. The food and service was very good. My wife and I eat at a lot of Mexican restaurants back home and found Compadres to not be your run of the mill Mexican food. Chips and salsa were very good, as was the Beef enchilada and taco. Also enjoyed the refried beans and...

Over from UK went to see the 'Street Cruise' on Dearborn Street on Sat evening. A fabulous experience topped by having dinner at Compadres. Only a 20 minute wait at a very busy time. Good menu choice, excellent Margaritas, as many homemade chips & salsa as you can eat, friendly & helpful staff, tasty food and very good value. Perfect...

Awesome!! We usually order a huge beef burrito and it is more than enough even for the overeaters in the family. Sorry to say, that's me. Best homemade salsa and chips anywhere. Real Mexican feel and terrific service. Sorry we're only here a couple of weeks a year, but hit Compadre's at least 2 or 3 times per trip.
We stopped at Compadres for lunch and were not dissapointed. The salsa is homemade and very fresh! We took a pint home and enjoyed it until it sadly disappeared (we ate it)! I have difficulty finding any "Mexican" restaurant that offers tamales. Compadres does and they are delicious. Our other entrees were delicious, especially with a bit of salsa which...

Taco shells etc made from scratch! Affordable prices, and super good food. Servers were more than on top of drink refills etc, great place for couples, friends, family.
We love this place. Should be rated in the Top 5 in Englewood ! Feels like your in Mexico .Family run with wonderful friendly service. We were given as many bowls of warm chips and homemade salsa as we could eat. You have to hold back because the portions are huge. The margaritas are excellent and only $3.75. My husband...

Compadres has been in Englewood for several years and never fails to please us. Lunch is our favorite - try the 1/2 and 1/2 offering which includes rice and beans as well. Wonderful salsa - all homemade.
We stopped in one evening in the mood for some classic Mexican...unfortunately that is not what they serve. The food was a bland, soggy, chewy mess. Everything had to have been frozen, canned precooked cheap garbage that i wouldnt serve my dog. We tried the quesadillas with steak and I would've been there all night chewing the horrible substance they...
