Food was great, I just ordered a random dish and it tasted pretty good. However it took almost an hour or so to get our food and then it took longer to get out check. It was an ok experience.

This place has a menu for just about everyone, from vegan to hearty carnivore. The spicy dishes are not overly hot, but have plenty of spicy pepper flavor, this is comfort food served with a smile. The only drawback is parking is a little scarce during busy times of the day, we parked across University in the Sante Fe lot...

Food's great but the live music is so loud the waiter, and anyone else at your table, can't hear you even when you're shouting! Which is a pity, since the band is really good. So our policy is we avoid it when there's live music :-)
I was so pleasantly surprised by this small local Jamaican restaurant. The food was DELICIOUS and the service is wonderful. There are tons of veggie and vegan choices along with typical Jamaican Jerk pork, beef or chicken. The place itself is so adorable-small and colorful with great music playing. Definitely going back next time I visit Gainesville!
Great food for meat-eaters and vegans alike. Highly recommend if you are vegan - there are fully 20 meals to choose from plus dessert! Go to my blog for my full review with photos: http://vegouttoeat.wordpress.com/2013/04/12/reggae-shack-cafe-gainesville-florida/
Stopped here on my way to Fl from GA. It was great. Staff was so nice. Food was the best. Clean restrooms and restaurant Wish I was closer to eat there more often.
very good and delicious, taste like home cooking , servers were friendly staff is great , clean chill environment , they get packed at lunch till evening there is always a wait time .
Had lunch with friends @ the Reggae Shack and it was very good! The burger was huge and cooked perfectly, but it was the fries that were worth going back for. Loved the spices on the fries...a mix of hot & spicy with a touch of sweetness. You've got to trust me, it works.
I had lunch with a friend at the Reggae Shack again last week. The service was fabulous and the food was the best Caribbean food I have had North of Jamaica. The Jerk Pork, plantains and cabbage were unbelievably good. This is a regular stop on every trip to Gainesville.
The curry and vegan steak were delish! First time and definitely not the last. The service was great and not too long a wait for take out.
