This place seems to be a favorite of truckers so what does that tell you. The young lady servers are pleasant and the cooks are pleasing people to make them come back.

The best home-cooked food! We were there for lunch, but the breakfasts that other diners had looked wonderful. They have the best fried green tomatoes I think I have ever had. Very laid-back and friendly and right in the heart of down town.

Nice ppl, great service, consistently good food. Great ribs. Always feel at home here. Gotta go if you're in the area.

This is mostly a breakfast and lunch restaurant. With the exception of Fridays and Saturdays, the Lake Placid Family Restaurant only opens in the early part of the day. If you like hanging out with good folks and locals during lunch...don't mind a little dirt tracked in from the cowboys and other hardworking folks that eat here then its well worth a stop. If you make it on a Thursday its fried chicken day and its some of the best you'll ever eat.

I had lunch here on a recent trip and found it to be pretty good. There is nothing fancy here, just well cooked food and plenty of it. Service is a bit lax, but tolerable. Prices are great. I will stop again on my next trip.

McDonald's on Hwy 27 in Lake Placid Fl. Do NOT go here. We were just passing thru while traveling. There were a bunch of large dead bugs (from the night before )on the sidewalk right in front of the door. You HAD to walk on them to go in. to tell you the truth I expected a lot more..waitress was not familiar with the menu, they took a looong time to cook 2 eggs, and they were served ""cold""......never came back to check on us..""fruit salad"" was sour orange and grapefruit......not cheap....and not very amicable...hmmmm will not go back!
