Ashley, our server, was great! She went above and beyond to be hospitable and accommodating. The food and wine were good. Sam, the other bartender/server, however, was quite rude. He made multiple loud comments to the effect that he did not want our business. I cannot imagine that the owners would want their guests treated so rudely.

Our group enjoyed a nice dinner here recently. Service by Sam was very friendly and knowledgable. I enjoyed the pasta special of penne with salmon in a light cream tomato sauce...a large portion for $18. Others at our table enjoyed the linguini with clams. Veal piccata was jsut so-so. Very resonable prices for the quality of food. We ate in... More

Tucked away in a shopping center that is being renovated sits the all alone Bayou Tavern. We took a chance and went in based on other reviews. Best decision today. The name doesn't tell you that it is an excellent Italian Restaurant. The mussels and clams were incredibly fresh. The pasta was of good quality and cooked perfectly. The prosciutto... More

Went here for pizza with a group and it was decent. Had some original choices and prices were not bad. Went back to try some of the specials they had told us about a couple nights later and... First of all the place had one other table occupied and about five people in the bar area. We were seated and... More

This was our 2nd visit to the restaurant in the rather defunct strip mall on beautiful Longboat Key and the first time we ordered pizza there. It was a great choice. We built our own with some of the toppings listed on the menu. All pizzas there are the same size, 14 inches, but there the similarity ends. This visit... More

We ate here on Easter Sunday after finding other places closed or not offering any specials. We thought they were offering their specials because their sign had them but our server told us ther were no specials once we were seated. We split a pizza and pasta. The pizza was good, the pasta just ok (they also wanted to charge... More

We decided to have Sunday dinner at this restaurant because of the reviews. Because the outside appears to be an abandoned plaza and looked rundown, we had our doubts. We were shocked when we entered and found a very attractive and charming place that had a view to die for. And this eatery was very similar inside to many of... More

Two years ago we discovered this restaurant and found it outstanding for Italian food. My wife raved about the bruschetta and I've been yearning for it ever since. Why it's great: the toasts are thin-sliced and two or three inches long, batthed liberally in olive oil with just the right amount of the tomato concoction on top. A serving is... More

At the northern end of Longboat Key (nearest to Bradenton Beach) sits the sad mostly empty Whitney Beach shopping center, where this plucky Italian restaurant survives and (I hope) prospers. We have been going back for several years; and the food, service, and atmosphere remain at a high level. Prices are reasonable, especially by Longboat Key standards. We have never... More
