The food is tasty - some of the best on Sanibel/Captiva. The place is very small, however, and during the day you'll want to sit outside on the porch. The inside is small, cramped, and dark. Since we don't care for the inside seating we always go for lunch and can only rate that. The menu is small but good....

We were looking for a place where to have lunch once arrived to Sanibel/Captiva for our short vacation. It was mother's day so, while a little off season, the island was packed. We had read the TA reviews, plus there was parking available in front of the restaurant and there were basically no people (it was 2 PM... late for...

dined outside on cute patio. had fresh catch grouper wood fired with delicious sauce, yellow rice, asparagus, broccoli, carrots. excellent quality and quantity. huge portions. key lime pie was perfect ending.
The pouring rain convinced us it was time to get off the road and stop for lunch. Sunshine Seafood was around the next corner. It is a small place with indoor and patio seating. We were all soaking wet, but so was everyone else. The fish sandwich of the day was Mahi-mahi. It was a bit peppery but moist and...

Our server Robin is warm, smart and lovely. She adds everything to the place. As she would for any environment.

From the street this restuarant looks more like a casual eating venue than the fabulous food it serves would suggest. It easily beats other more up market looking venues we ate at and we will definitely be back.
I've been to Captiva a few times in the last decade, and I don't know how I missed this place. Maybe it was because it was stuck next to the T-shirt/beach shack, and I never happened to glance to the end of the porch, neatly organized in old Florida style. But I should have. Now I know what I was...

My wife and I turned up without a reservation but after a very short wait, we were called to a table on the verandah.
It is expensive, but then everything on Captiva and Sanibel is more expensive than on the mainland. It is also very poular with those who reside on the islands and they should know the best places...

We returned for the 3rd time for the best dinner available on Captiva Island. We stayed at South Seas Resort and had dinner 2 of the 3 nights we were there. The scallops and goat cheese salad was spectacular. One main course was better than the other. Paella, coconut crusted sea bass, the swordfish best ever. Can't wait to return...
