I had the crab salad BLT and my Husband has the grouper sandwich all very tasty and the server was amazingly sweet!
My wife and I arrived in St. Augustine around 4:30 and wanted a nice little meal before touring the city. We had a very nice meal on the outside deck at A1A Ale House. The weather was beautiful and we were able to watch the Christmas lights come on as it got darker.
Nice view, but a noisy corner. Very disappointing food. I ordered this: FiSHERMAN’S PLATTER Crispy, breaded seafood platter with seasonal fresh fish, shrimp, calamari and hushpuppies served over French fries with A1A tartar and marinara sauces. 16.95 This was actually a french-fry platter. The fish was really good, but there wasn't much of it -- maybe a half dozen pieces... More
We've been to the A1A Works for the second time. The last time we went was several years ago. Our waiter was friendly and attentive and the food was very good. I had the grouper with the asparagus and bearnaise sauce, garlic mashed potatoes and wonderful grilled vegetables. My partner had the coconut shrimp which were a tad greasy and... More
If you are a beer lover, you must give the place a try. Nice selection of beer brewed on the premises. The Pale Ale was exceptional. The food was a step up from most Microbreweries. Large portions of tasty selections. We sat out on the balcony and the view of the water was beautiful.
I wasn't hungry so I can't comment on the food (it's available, a real menu) but the beer was good, the setting was attractive, and it's right by the bay. Friendly barkeep, too. Warning: it's a craft brewery, so don't go expecting Bud Lite or stuff that tastes like same (but they probably will give you a glass of water... More
This is THE place to eat to have the best view of the Old City and Bridge of Lions. The balcony seats about 75 ppl. The menu has a nice variety of food. I love the plank salmon. The bar offers a wide variety of adult beverages. The girls at the check-in desk could be nicer but the wait staff... More
We've visited Augustine several times and we always stop by the A1A Ale works, they have a great variety and ample selection of wonderful meal choices. Crab cakes were great, and my wife love many of their fish and seafood choices. They have a great burger as well. The Atmosphere is warm inviting and causal. My wife says the shrimp... More
Definitely try the shrimp and lobster tacos very yummy. Not to mention this place brews their own beer, need I say more? Actually yes try the pumpkin beer, wonderfully smooth and bursting with pumpkin flavor. Will definitely recommend sitting outside. Only reason why I didn't rate it 5 stars, was because the fried coconut shrimp was slightly overlooked but still... More
