We are traveling through Tallahassee over the weekend and had read the very favorable reviews for the restaurant. We too enjoyed our meal. We began with a pate (duck and goose liver) which was excellent, served with the usual accompaniemnts--capers, cornichons, and a grainy mustard--as well as thinly sliced bread and small portion of sping greens, and nicely presented. I recently went for dinner on a Saturday night with a friend. It has been at least 10 years since my last trip here (back when it was Albert's Provence) and I was both pleased and disappointed in certain aspects. I will say, before a lengthy review, that the attributes outweighed the detriments. I'll start with the negatives (they should... More

We had decided to delay our Mother's Day celebration until the Tuesday following and made reservations at A La Provence. We had dined there before and had enjoyed it greatly. It was quiet at 7:00 pm with four tables filled when we arrived. My wife ordered a tomato soup with Gorgonzola cheese and grouper stuffed with crab. I had the... More

We enjoyed the meal and good service very much. There was a set menu because we were attending a birthday party. The special room was well appointed, roomy round tables set nicely. Wait staff very attentive. The food was top notch and not at all run-of-the-mill. The building is old and the bathroom area was not renovated and should be.... More

I was here for a special dinner. I thought the tables were a little to close together making it hard to have a private conversation. The food was very good but we didn't check our tab before leaving. After reviewing it at home we saw that we were charged for an appetizer that should have been part of their four... More

Food, wine, presentation, and quality were all top notch. Everything we had was delicious (filet, crab cakes, pate, chevre app, and mousse). Portions were actually pretty large, at least compared to "big city" experiences I've had.

We were on our way home from WDW and their fabulous restaurant ( CA Grill, Artist Point, Citricos , Yachtman...to name a few). A gentleman at the liquor store recommend A La Provence. The food was every bit as delictible and any of the meals we had that week. The cheese board was the best we ever had anywhere. We... More

My wife and I returned after about six months and enjoyed it as usual. We both started with the tomato caprese, a mixture of diced tomato and herbs that is delicious. We followed that with the trout which was excellent, a cheese plate, and finally a soufflé which was a very tasty but light finish to a great meal. The... More

We frequent this establishment for personal and business meals. Hands down, this is a great restaurant. The food and service are impeccable and the price is right.
