Had another amazing dinner tonight at this quiet little Bistro on downtown Venice. Wonderful wine, attentive service and good value. Tonight's meal was the monthly Czech dinner which was delicious as usual. It's quiet here and you can easily talk to you table partners and enjoy a leisurely meal.
Since the old chef left the food and servings went down hill. I wouldn't recommend the restaurant to anybody. Chef Lisa cooked consistent. The food isn't fresh.
Stopped in for a quick lunch while strolling Venice Avenue. They had a surprising selection of Czech beers and Greek food. I had the Greek flatbread and he had a pesto chicken sandwich. Both were outstanding. Friendly staff and a fantastic location on the Avenue. Will definitely return.
We chose to eat on Czech Night, which is every 3rd Wednesday. The regular menu is suspended and an authentic, fresh cooked Czech menu is available instead. It is very fairly planned, offering a la carte options for each course plus 2 different entrees within a set 3 course menu at around $25pp. This gives options to each diner within... More
Isn't it amazing how one person hates something and the next person thinks its the greatest thing? This is a mom and pop deal. Went to the Czech republic recently and the decor is similar to what you would find there - and sit back in your seat and look towards the bar area and this is a cool little... More
Went based on recommendation of trip advisor. No one but owner/server in restaurant. Decor was very stark. There were only a handful of tables there, spread out, creating a lot of empty space, but very uncomfortable. There was plenty of room for more seating. The food was ok. Sauces were incredible, and you can pick the sauce you would like.... More
We live in Venice and always make a point of visiting The Bistro when we want a delicious meal without waiting for hours and dealing with a ton of tourists. The owners are great, the chef is amazing, and the best part is you can pair your own sauces with your food - so if you want to go light,... More
Went two nights ago based on trip advisor recommendations. No one but owner/server in restaurant. Decor very, very stark. Only a handful of tables spread out, and very uncomfortable. Plenty of room to have put in a more comfortable seating arrangement. Food was very good. Mushroom sauce excellent, but pork overcooked. The chicken was cooked perfectly. Host was not welcoming... I decided to have lunch at TEF based on tripadvisors ratings. The lunch was a disaster from beginning to end. Ordered the supreme steak sandwich and was not impressed. I'm still trying to figure out what the supreme was all about. The sandwich was priced at just under $10.00 and had about 3 cents worth of steak atop green peppers... More
