It has been over two years since my first review. Then I wrote in generalities. This time I invited some guests for dinner. They were surprised and delighted by the scope and quality of the experience. For starters we had escargot for the gentlemen and Franc’s Caprese salad for the ladies (based on Linda’s rave recommendation). All our plates were... More

Visited for a business dineer on last trip to Boise. This was great! Incredible food, great service, & impeccible wine list. We shared a bunch of items. Clams & escargot to start. They were great (if you're a snail person these you won't be disappointed). Elk & Buffalo were the winners for entrees. I don't eat a lot of game,... More

After much anticipation about sharing this restaurant with an out of state visitor we visited Le Coq Rouge. The service was not good, as if they were 'doing us a favor to wait on us'. It immediately placed a shroud on our genuine desire for something good to happen. The food was less quality and more quantity. The pricing was... More

Our experience at this restaurant was extremely favorable. Everthing from the charming decor, the extensive wine selection, the lovely live background music, the friendly wait staff to the FABULOUS cuisine! We made reservations for our party of four as recommended by several on Tripadvisor. The Chef must have answered the phone (thick French accent) and he was very friendly. They... More

An elderly neighbor invited my husband and I to dine with him at Le Cog Rouge. He had just told us it was a wonderful French restaurant. Of course we were excited to see what he loved so much. He has traveled to Europe many times and felt as though Le Coq Rouge was a fun "next to being in... More

Everything about this restaurant was awesome--the food, service, and atmosphere. Had the Duck and it was fantastic, as was the Onion soup and Escargot. Better than the food we had in Paris last year!

I took my wife here for her birthday. The waiters were very personal and accommodating. The food was amazing. We had the French onion soup with bread. My wife's Dover sole had a cream and wine sauce that was whipped to perfection. I had the scallops and spaghetti in white wine sauce. Both dishes were exactly what we hoped for... More

Hi All, this restaurant is the best for sure in Idaho with that cuisine. Nobody cooks with more love than Franck! It is a typical European Restaurant with French/German Cuisine. The service is great and we love the fact that we can sit there all night and enjoy our food and drinks...Great thanks to Linda and Franck and their staff... More

This was our second time attending the New Year's Eve party at the Coq Rouge. The greeting was very nice and we were promptly seated. The first disappointment was that we had exactly the same seats than the previous year, which was too close to the door in a cold draft. The food was fine but not great, especially when... More

Unique. Authentic. Hands down, one of the very best restaurants (if not THE best) in this part of the country. Offering the finest, freshest ingredients and an ever-changing menu of timeless traditional French dishes to fabulous original creations, Le Coq Rouge cuisine awaits the lucky visitor. -Brad & Julie, Anniversary visit, 12/28/2012
