Most comfortable restaurant! Has the best chicken in town on their menu. Everything I've ever had there was great! It Is a little more expensive but is well worth it. Nice ambiance!
Hubby and I were making our way down Route '66 and, based on recommendations in our Route guidebooks, stopped in Pontiac to take a look at the various museums located there - the Pontiac (the car) Museum, the Wall Dogs Museum (you'll have to stop by to find out what a Wall Dog is!) and the Route '66 Museum -... Went to Bernardi's again last night, and was lured by the Friday night special, Pistachio and Honey Crusted Salmon on top of a pesto pasta. This was a fantastic meal! I don't consider myself a critic, or food conniseur, but having just returned from a "feeding frenzy" in NYC, I have to say that this meal compares admirably to every... More
Besides the food, the best thing about Bernardi's in Pontiac, is the people who work there. It's always a pleasure to have a meal here. I love the Stuffed Shells with Alfredo Sauce. And the Creamy Garlic salad dressing that I cannot get anywhere else. And, believe it or not, the Burgers are yummy!! Saturday evening we met my parents... More
Came from out of town and weren't familiar with the area. Stopped by for supper and tried the fried chicken as most reviews said to do. Thank goodness we listened, who would think to order fried chicken at an Italian restaurant. It came with a side of spaghetti, it tasted strange. I can't explain it. Almost like chili con carne.... Our family has been going to Bernardi's for years, and it is the best restaurant in Pontiac. We have tried almost everything on the menu. Our favorites include, onion rings, house salad(with homemade dressing), fried chicken, Italian green beans, broiled chopped steak(bacon wrapped) and all of the pastas. We have never been disappointed. The wait staff are dressed professionally with... More
What do they do to this stuff that makes it addicting? Really fresh chicken, to begin with, and a fantastic beer battered ultra crispy coating. Oh, and the side salad with the Ranch dressing. I have never tasted Ranch as good as this. I taste a lot of dill in it, must be the secret!
Bernardis is one of those places that people just go because, well, it's Bernardis. In this part of central Illinois, folks from the local small towns always traveled to Toluca to dine at Monas or Caponis. Both restaurants are owned by the same folks. Bernardis and Bernardis II are essentially the same restaurant. My experience over the years with all... More
Bringing my wife and mother-in-law to Bernardi's II for a Mother's Day dinner was a success but barely. Atmosphere was great, service was fine but the food left a bit to be desired for the price. My mother-in-law didn't complain about anything. She was getting a free meal and an evening out of the retirement center... what's to complain about.... More
