This is rustic restaurant - nice and casual. While traveling we stopped for lunch. My husband had a salad with chicken which was just ok. My meal was very good - coleslaw with peanuts and crab and corn soup. The service could have been better.

Although this restaurant is almost located under a freeway, it really has a southern atmosphere. The building is quaint inside and out with eating on a covered portch if you don't prefer inside. Even during the week, it was packed with a 45 minute wait - but its worth it. Highlight is the corn crab bisque, don't miss it. Also... More

Recently visited this place for the 1st time based on TA reviews. We really enjoyed our meals. The building is uniquely rustic. Service was excellent. Prices were reasonable. Our only complaint & we mentioned it to the manager was that their choice of music (not live) was too loud & did not seem to go with the atmosphere. Mostly hard... More

For being a Baton Rouge native, I'm embarrassed to say I've only eaten here twice. Both experiences were very good. The best part about Parrains is definitely the atmosphere. It has indoor and outdoor seating, both of which provide a sort of refined Southern Louisiana charm. Cajun/creole dishes are offered here, none of which are bad. Service can be slow... More

First time to eat here. Crab corn bisque was excellent, rich as it should be wonderful flavor. We shared the Delacriox, the mahi mahi fish was a little tough but the sauce had great favor, could have used a little more sauce. Cole slaw with peanuts, had a nice light dressing. Will definitely eat here again and try something else.

It starts with clever atmosphere and friendly, attentive servers. We are both light eaters, so we shared the Crab and Crawfish Au Gratin appetizer, moved on to Turtle Soup (like a spicy chili), then shared the Andouille Encrusted Fresh Fish. We are travelling across the USA, and this was truly one of the BEST eating experiences we will treasure. (We... More

Parrains has some of the best seafood gumbo you'll find in Baton Rouge. It's not fancy, but it is delicious. In fact, everything on the menu is most likely delicious. The atmosphere is relaxed and fun. A great place to meet friends for drinks and dinner.

Mike Anderson's is Boutin's is Parrain's--they all have the same selections of fried seafood and rich sauces and toppings. My mistake was to try to eat healthfully here--I ordered the "Grilled Fresh Fish" without the hollandaise sauce on the broccoli. Turns out the fish is not so much grilled, as pan-sauteed and covered in gobs of butter. The porch is... More

I'm not an oyster fan but the grilled Oysters were great. We had a large party and we sat almost immediately. Great food, good selection of beers and wines. Great service.

Excellent place with authentic style food. Not a tourist trap! This is awesome food. A must eat is the crab and craw fish au gratin. And the " whole shebang ", has a little bit of everything. Laid back, casual, family environment. Great for all ages.
