you should give this place a shot, at least once. This is definitely one of the best atmospheres in the city, if not the best. Situated at the top of the Shaw building in the reviving downtown restaurant and bar district (3rd Street), this restaurant overlooks the Mississippi river. The views are fantastic. The sushi is very good, albeit very... More

The food is wonderful (if you love sushi), and the bar is young and hip and fun. If it's warm enough, you should sit outside and enjoy the view. It's the best in Baton Rouge.

The sushi is wonderful. Not too crazy about the entrees but the atmosphere is so fabulous. Great place to go in the early evening when the sun sets, eat sushi and drink martinis! Maybe even have their delicious chocolate dessert to share. I love this place! It makes me happy to go there!

We've heard such great things about Tsunami, so before an event downtown, we gave it a try. The sushi was good, but nothing better than most of the other sushi restaurants in town. The wine and beer lists were better than the others. The view and atmosphere were great. I would eat there again if I were downtown, but I... More

I've gone here three times. Gets worse every time. Service is abysmal, if someone even condescends enough to acknowledge you. Once seated you might wait 20 minutes for water much less a glass of wine. I keep saying i wont go back but when visitors come I like for them to see the view. But I've learned my lesson. Never... The robust Miso soup started the evening on a good note. Chocolate cake for dessert finished a perfect dinning experience and everything in between was excellent! The snow crab salad was a stand out. We would have enjoyed our meal without the view which was the most memorable in years. Highly recommend!!

We ate lunch here during our trip along the Gulf. The place is very attractive and we had the option to sit outside since the weather was a lovely 70 degrees in January!! It was pleasant to sit and watch the barges going up and down the Mississippi. I am not a sushi eater, nor is my husband so he... More

I don't know what has happened to Tsunami. We have been many times and have given good ratings in the past. Last night was pretty typical for us. We ordered about $200 worth of food and drinks (1 drink per person) plus two desserts for our party of four. The food was good as usual. The server did an excellent... More

My husband wanted to return for the view and the food. I was disappointed with the sushi. The fried oysters appetizer was fabulous. The tuna and salmon nigiri were average. One of the salmon pieces was inedible. The rolls were tasty, but the rice was a little gummy.

Either in the restaurant or out on the rooftop, you can have beautiful views of the Mississippi River, the "new" bridge, and parts of downtown Baton Rouge. The views alone warrant going to the Tsunami restaurant at the Shaw Center for at least a drink, but my wife and I rarely do just that. Rather we go for dinner and... More
