Ate lunch here on a Thursday in Mid-May. Restaurant was full, a good sign. Had a BLT which was excellent. My partner had a seafood dish which was also first rate. Nice ambiance. Good service. Only two complaints - they serve ketchup in a tiny portion controlled dish, which was insufficient for for more than a few fries, and is... More

The food, service, and ambiance were outstanding. Everything was fresh. Portions are a good size but not huge. There is live jazz on Friday. Can't wait to go back. Don't miss this place if you are in the area.

Interesting takes on traditional downeast fare. Not cheap, but well worth the money. Excellent service, interesting food and enough of it--but not the absurdly large amounts that many places now seem to favor

I went here for my birthday dinner. Everything is top notch and unpretentious. From the drinks to the desserts the food is fresh, creative and plentiful.

We enjoyed a really nice meal here before a recent event at the EXCELLENT Chocolate Church Arts Center ( http://chocolatechurch.com ) . The owners and staff know how to present a nice dining experience that leaves you satisfied yet not over-stuffed. We had salad apps, an entrée and split a desert, did not have to loosen our belts AND we... More

I'm a retired local and dining out is an infrequent treat, therefore value is an important part of the equation when chosing a place for a special meal. I must admit that I'd resisted going to Solo for a long time because, in peeking in the front window, I thought the chairs and decor looked a little cold and uncomfortable.... More

Went for dinner (had been there for lunch). The food was top notch and high value compared to Portland. Service was great, friendly, and causal. We ordered the seared duck breast with duck confit cassoulet with winter vegetables and the seafood fra davola. An amazing stand out was the wine list. It was a standout because it was a relatively... More

This restaurant has great food. It is a bit noisy, but the food is delicious and the service is good. You must make a reservation, even in the winter as the few people that live in Maine are apparently going there to eat dinner.
