The Happy Crab is a pleasant eating spot with pretty good food. The two drawbacks is that the service is slow, and that it is overpriced for what one gets.
Myself and two other guys had a week in Maine chasing partridge and decided to hit for 4 nights. The service is slow for sure. That's because it also a sports bar and the waitresses are also serving food at the Bar as well. Not a plus when its busy for sure. Anyway, back to the food. High marks for... More
We were on vacation and went to the Happy Crab the first night of our visit to Eastport. The young girl seated us and 15 minutes later no service, not water not drinks, nothing. We left and went next door. Terrible Service.
Simply good. The seafood is fresh and prepared to order. Get the Scallop or the Lobster roll for a taste sensation. Service is Given with a smile. Have eaten here three times and it has always been good. The view isn't bad either if you eat on the back deck.
Nice clean place to enjoy a good meal or snack. Our server was very pleasant and the onion soup and lobster stew were excellent. We'll be back again soon.
After a foggy, raining morning the day before the Pirate Festival we were ready for some warm food. For those expecting a sports bar remember this is the most eastern sports bar in the US. You are a long ways from Boston and New York and Chicago and that is why you are hear, unless the pirates kidnapped you. We... More
We spent the day in Eastport and it is a beautiful little town. We were ready for a drink and a snack and decided on the Happy Crab. It is a small place on the water with very little atmosphere. What popped the rating up was the people, the pool table and the haddock chowder! The drinks were well made,... More
The Happy Crab is a unprepossessing little seafood restaurant in Eastport, Maine.a small fishing village near the New Brunswick border. It's easily found near the end of Water Street There is a small outdoor deck and an equally small interior restaurant with the traditional bar. Not well designed and the views are obstructed. I ordered the scallops and my companion... More
The food taste in house made, not frozen. The scallops weren't the best I have had but the were good. The Clam Chowder was certainly better than most, but the fresh haddock is what pulled this up to a good rating. Lightly corn-mealed, not greasy even though it was fried! So white and fresh... I would go again and again... More
