We stopped in the bakery during a bike tour to pick up sandwiches and came back the next day to sample the baked goods because everything looked so good.

The almond horns and cookies are both beyond exceptional! Though we find the cinnamon roll a bit dry, for out-of-towners the bagels and English muffins are worth taking home to freeze and enjoy in the future.
We stayed in a cottage right down the street from here. The bagels are awesome! I got a half a dozen to go and was ale to put together a great breakfast from what I could buy here! I picked up some fresh herbed cream cheese to go with the bagels, a quart of milk, a package of thick applewood...

We were on a family road trip of Eastern Canada and the U.S. We spent one night in Portland and wanted a breakfast we could eat on the road. Our GPS took us to what felt like a very residential neighborhood and we drove past twice before we saw what we were looking for. It was worth finding. Everything we...

The center of yum here in South Portland that never ever misses to feed that craving….addicting bagels….breads…english muffins and those sweets. Cookies, brownies and cakes that just magically jump out of the display case and you feel absolutely no guilt after the first bite. Scratch has such a welcoming feel and is the center of Willard Square. Do try those...

Talk about your wonderful surprises! After a circuitous jaunt to South Portland, we chanced upon bakery nirvana at a place called Scratch! You will not believe your eyes when you walk through the door into a room filled with incredible baked goods. This place could give lessons to other bakeries. The bagels are beyond compare. I never had a bagel...

Wow-this little bakery is a gem! Their bagels were the best we've had. You can get a variety of food here- wine, cheese, cream cheese for the incredible bagels, coffee, soups, sandwiches, and of course baked goods. We had peanut butter cookies that were heavenly- not too sweet, just right.
I go there about once a week. Great natural bakery, classic presentation, friendly staff. It's the hub of the entire neighborhood on the weekends.
Warm bagels are so worth the wait. Best you'll ever eat. Cookies are delicious. Bobka - yummy. Wish they shipped!
