If you are in Tremont or Southwest Harbor, Gotts is a small local store with a surprising variety of things, edibiles and more. You can get gas here, too.
I loved the experience of going into Gott's General Store and the fresh Haddock fish sandwich exceeded expectations. It was a real treat to eat it hot outside at the picnic tables complete with umbrellas. The two bright red Adirondack chairs painted up as Lobsters...was a hoot! The staff that day were very nice and added to the whole neat experience.More
what nice people work here. We first found them a few years ago when we were hungry and it was past breakfast timee. We asked and they went to the kitchen and made us breakfast. not on the menu but they did it anyway. Went...back and ordered a pizza and it was the best around the area. Now we go in for ice cream and one time they had giffords peach and it was more peaches that ice cream which for me it was just outstanding. The food for lunch is always good and the service is always great. I know if they do not wear masks they should do it but I and my wife have had all of our shots and they said the did also. This however is a hidden gem and if you need items from their store or lunch to eat in or out I say go here for real Maine people being real nice to everyone. we still go here a lot when we come up.More
So glad I discovered great reviews about Gott’s before coming to Acadia NP. There aren’t many grocery stores so we appreciated a few trips to Gott’s for their yummy pizza, fruit and veggies, snacks, ice, ice cream sundaes, even gas. The staff were wonderful and...they had a fairly good selection for being on MDI. Worth the trip and they have outdoor tables out back.More
We stopped here for ice cream after hiking the Ships Harbor trail on the quieter side of Acadia. They served Gifford’s ice cream as well as soft serve and it was great! There was a small outdoor seating area, children’s play set, and the cutest...Adirondack chairs painted like lobsters! This place had everything. It may not look like much from the outside, but don’t let that fool you. Friendly service and great food.More
We recently bought a small house in Seal Cove and Gott's Store has become my favorite spot for take-out. Their pizza is awesome! The young employees in there are very courteous and friendly! Tasty pastries too!
We picked up several pizzas, sandwiches, and a salad. All were freshly made to order and delicious. The stuffed crust pizza was $13 for a 16" two topping and was fantastic! Steak bomb sandwiches stuffed full of tender shaved steak. We highly recommend the food!!
Left Southwest Harbor heading to some of Acadia's lesser know spots and made a quick stop at Gott's. OMG small store but it is certainly not a 7-11. It has a great bakery and marvelous deli food. It's obviously a place that a lot of...locals use. In the parking lot I saw trucks loaded with lobster pots so this is obviously a place where they grab a meal before they head out.More
Please be aware they do not wear masks in the store or ice cream parlor. It was disappointing to see the lack of care for others.
Stopped twice for ice cream and though different staff each time, they all were fantastic and happy to wait on us even though we stopped towards closing time.
Ordered pizza from Gotts tonight. Won't ever make that mistake again, the employer doesn't require masks be worn by staff or customers. The staff member wore no gloves and repeatedly wiped his face as he was working with the dough. If you're not going to...require masks start with some food handlers training at the least. Many many businesses are putting forth so much effort... Ill go to them instead and encourage you all to do the same.More
There must be a 400 percent markup as we found the highest grocery prices we’ve ever seen. None of the three staff we saw wore masks, thereby endangering all customers. But the worst part was listening to one of the cashiers loudly telling everyone in...the store that no one could force her to wear a mask. So disappointingly selfish. Needless to say, we won’t be back for our own safety.More
We didn’t eat here, and if I hadn’t read the favorable reviews, I probably wouldn’t have stopped. But it was a convenient place to pick up some supplies for our stay in Southwest Harbor. It was reasonably priced and judging from the number of regulars...we saw, must be good.More
Gott's a local gas station / convenience and not-half-bad grocery store / coffee shop. But the pizza is outstanding pizza on the Quiet Side of the island. We've been enjoying their pies for years. Ice cream window is out back, where the mosquitos are, too....So be ready to apply DEET before getting ice cream and be sure to back into your parking space, like a local.More
