Went for the first time, and I was very impressed. I enjoy the horse stable theme (you will know what I mean, when you sit in the booths). The food was very good. It had the level of "comfort food" that you get from a mom and pop place. The staff was very friendly. The place was clean. And the... More

We stopped here on our way back from a trip to Virginia. My wife had steak which she said was good but a bit overlooked. I had a rack of baby back ribs which were very good. Service was friendly and the place was very busy...usually a good sign. We followed the cars pulling in and were we did.

Whether you live in the area, just passing through or visiting from somewhere else you need to stop at Rip's. This is our second visit and we were happy we returned. The service is some of the best service I have ever received from any restaurant. The waitress we had was very attentive. The cream of crab soup was spot... More

Ate here for the second time in the last 5 months and loved it just as much. Ate here for breakfast with a buddy of mine and received the same great attentive service I experienced the first time I visited. Still love the atmosphere (log-cabin feel, easy listening music, etc), and the down-home type of service. Gloria was our waitress... More

We stopped in Rips for a late lunch. The atmosphere was cozy, a little dark; it feels like you are inside a horse barn. We happened to like it. The booths are nice and private. I ordered the chicken breast pecan salad and loved it! The vinaigrette dressing was delicious. My husband had the Maryland fish fry plate and thought... More

Ok, I have lived in Bowie now 19 years and when I first started going to Rips, it was fantastic and really felt like a country inn. Then over the years, most recently, the nice muffins you got at the start of the meal turned into a rock hard bread log, updated modern furniture, the loss of the free apple... More

We had driven by Rip's many times over the years and finally decided to stop and have dinner. The restaurant was not busy and service was pleasant. But the food was average at best and really reminded me of cafeteria food - everything seemed to have an institutional taste to it. The cornbread and butter were very good. We ordered... More

This is the second time we have even here. Both times our waiter/waitress was smiling, excited we were there, eager to please. Excellent food--especially the crabs cakes broiled. My husband had the prime rib, cooked perfectly with a baked potato and salad. Yummy corn bred with sweetened butter. My cream of crab soup, crab cake, and salad were delish! Our... More

This is part of a small chain in Southern Maryland. The restaurant is decorated in an equestrian motif. There are many varieties of menu items and a small cozy feel. I have been here many times and I have never been disappointed. If you have out-of town guests who don't know Maryland, I recommend this restaurant.

I was in town and decided to stop in on this local hideaway for a taste of some local fare. The complex is actually a three-part establishment with a liquor store, restaurant, and an inn all on one. I ate at the restaurant. Atmosphere was quaint, and had a rustic, woodsy, log-cabin like feel to it. The lightening is dim... More
