Evergrain is a great place to stop and rest with interesting, creative & good sandwiches/soup. Outdoor dining and people & dog watching was a fun experience. Our light lunch was just right. Bill B.

While the casual atmosphere was inviting, and the staff were very friendly and helpful, the coffee was strangely bitter. My friend had regular brewed coffee, with milk added, and I had an espresso. Both had the same, almost undrinkable bitter taste. My friend also had an oatmeal cookie, which she also said was not very good. Disappointing since this is...

A very bustling atmosphere and crowded when we walked in to this cute bakery. Purchased take sandwiches, baguettes and cookies. All were very tasty.
Very good bakery, we love the chocolate croissants and the sunbuns. The only problem was that they were out of french bread and blueberry muffins. We went at about noon and they were already out so I think you have to get there early.
We stop here each time we are in Chestertown and stock up on breads to take back home to D.C. Outstanding quality breads and other delicious treats baked in the old world, full flavor, no artificial nothing style. Wondeful place to linger, too, and listen to some music, have a cup of good coffee, read the paper, chat with locals,...

Walked over early this morning at 6:45 a.m. from the Imperial Hotel across the street where I was staying. Was greeting to rows of fresh bakery delicacies. Ordered a latte and sat down and enjoyed the free WiFi service as the regulars came in for their morning java. Was a nice treat on a cold January morning
The Sun Bun was awesome! The dense German multigrain bread was too, in a very different way. Both had wonderful taste and texture.
We ate there twice during the week we spent in Chestertown. Everything we had was top notch. The breads are fresh and warm. The butternut squash soup was as good as I've had anywhere. The hot chocolate is normally just steamed chocolate milk; we were fortunate to arrive on a day when they had run out of the normal fare,...

Can't say enough good things about what is now Evergrain Bread Company, which is so much more than bread. But the bread is what makes it a stand-out. The space and location are terrific, at the quiet ends of the main street, being en enjoyable place to sit with morning coffee and a pastry (the croissants and brioche rolls are...

When you enter the bakery the smell of fresh baked pastries makes you twice as hungry. Has Internet service, which is hard to find in Chestertown. Arrive early they were out of a few things. Then again it was a holiday weekend.
