South African food is not easily found in "these here parts." The food, a bit on the spicy side (but only a bit) is intriguing and very tasty. Nice atmosphere; good wait staff.
First of all, the entire staff at Karoo are tops. Starting with the owner Sanette, coming around to the tables and continuing with the servers, bartender and hostess. They couldn't be nicer or more helpful and welcoming. My husband had peri peri chicken it was delicious. Others have said it wasn't hot like it was supposed to be they are... More
The food is very good. I had an african meatloaf, my wife had a spiced (peri peri) half chicken. Both were excellent, though the chicken wasn't as hot-spicy as the menu claimed. The food was not exotic (like Ethiopian), so less adventurous diners will be fine here. We ate at the bar, the bartender was excellent - keeping all customers... More
I must say as a server on cape I have become a food and service snob. My friend had been here once before and knowing I am a vegetarian had to introduce me to this restaurant! And can I say it was incredible! I not only ate my shared portion of an app, I ate my whole plate of an... More
Our first time eating at Karoo in Eastham and things could not have been better. The menu offers an excellent selection of food and drink. The waiter was very knowledgeable and quite helpful in making suggestions. The decor is pleasant and the prices are very moderate. I don't think I saw an entree that cost more than $17.95. The food... More

Because the food at the Karol restaurant is that good. This was our introduction to food from southern Africa. Our food adventure scale runs from wide open to stodgy. All of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals, the fine, friendly service and the tasteful atmosphere. The staff will.patiently explain the dishes. The spices are different but well suited to the dish.... Each year we come to Cape Cod and a drive to Provincetown is always on our agenda. We discovered this great restaurant there a few years ago and now we usually eat two or three times there during our visit. This year we stayed in Eastham and were delighted to discover that they had added a second location there. We... More
We went to Karoo in Provincetown a while ago and enjoyed it very much. We like the new place in Eastham even more because it is more spacious and offers a larger menu! The food is inventive with savory stews (both vegetarian and non vegetarian) providing a number of options for different tastes. With so many American type restaurants on... More
