This is so goooood for fried sea food and zucchini fried but you have to be patient -- good food it takes time. Ok love!
I will not leave the Vineyard without at least one stop at the Bite. Their fried clams, oysters and shrimp are totally delicious, the best I have had anywhere. And my most recent visit last week may have been the best of all. Go armed with your own small bottles of green and red tabasco, carry it all down to... More
Please, please, please, get the fried scallops. I went back to the bite despite staying in Edgartown for those fried scallops. Just might be the best on the island and its easy to grab some grub and then check out the rest of the town for sunset. Not bad living at all!
stopped for a quick "bite" and was impressed by the perfectly fried oysters and clam strips from what one would call a shanty shack, but that's the fun of it and eating on a picnic table. bring cash and for some it may seem a bit pricy for seating or standing and eating your food, but it was very good,... Great place to get clams and sit on the beach to watch the sunset. We showed up right before closing time and servers made us the last batch of fried clams. Definitely worth the trip.
Our long-standing favorite for take out...fried clams are the best, in fact most on the menu is fried...but this is definitely the place to "slip" on the diet. A wonderful little joint with really nice people and super food. Don't miss it on your day up-Island. TAKE OUT ONLY..CASH ONLY..NO CREDIT CARDS. Would hate to see you go unprepared.
The Bite is known for fried clams. It deserves its reputation. They are delicious. Also try the cheese stuffed jalapenos. We were there on the last day of the season just before they closed. Thus we were actually able to park in one of the few slots at their door. This tiny shack is a gem.
Just a little shack, the Bite has been producing the best clam chowder for decades. And a friend who loves fried clams and is very picky about the says that the clams are the very best.
Whatever fried seafood you want, you can walk up to this shack and order it. They are famous for their whole-belly clams and they are quite the treat, but only if you like fried clams. It is not something to try for the first time here.
