My mother took my husband and I out for lunch last Wednesday at the lovely House of India. It was so delicious. The food was all fresh and prepared just right. The flavors of all the different food they have available at the lunch buffet just dance in your mouth and put a smile on your face. So, when you... More

I have been going here for many years. The quality of food unfortuantely depends on the cook that day. I'll say a few times it left a lot to be desired. The last few times i have gone it has been very good. It is worth the risk in my opinion. It's often great and occasionally plain. So, don't judge... More

We eat here from time to time when in Pittsfield. We go because we like Indian food and because we are hungry, and this place satisfies. But basically it is kind of like getting a good hamburger instead of McDonalds -- not a culinary experience, but a decent lunch.

Great lunch buffet. The food is authentic and very good. The atmosphere could improve and the day we went there were lots of children but these are small distractions to put aside to have a very satisfying meal at a decent price.

The food is delicious. Great lunch buffets. Haven't had dinner here. Nice to see so many ethnic restaurants instead of the usual boring kinds of foods in this area.

Excellent buffet lunch. Chicken tandori is very good. Buffet offers a nice selection and is complemented with fresh, soft, warm Naan (flat bread).

Dull ambiance, sticky unclean place, below average food even for the untrained American taste buds.

Food was good, excellent selection of dishes. Most of the group went "family-style". Two of us opted for a la carte. I chose the chicken tikka kabab, but there was a misunderstanding and I got instead chicken tikka in sauce. BUT it was very tasty. Lots of chicken, more than I could eat, which is unusual. Some mixup in the... More

We went for the buffet and it was after 1:00. There was not one thing that looked fresh or appealing. We should have just left but didn't. Nothing was replenished and it looked awful. Even the bread was bad. Neither my mother or I will ever step foot in there again.

I have eaten Indian food for over 30 years, and from a number regions and traditions. This food was like eating dirt. Flavor was minimal, there was no spiciness at all. Also, when they say "with vegetables" (like the lamb samosas) they mean just a pinch of some sort of under-cooked vegetable. The lamp samosas looked beautiful on the outside,... More
