We carried out, ordering the curry puffs, butter fried chicken, and the Beef Renang (sp?). Every bit of it was fabulous. I am now in love with Indonesian food. The beef dish had actual chunks of cinnamon bark, anise seed pods, and other fresh, whole seasonings I could not identify in the sauce. If you like Indian food or other... More

This is why I love college towns--they attract YUM international foods. Rasa Ria, a total hole in the wall is no exception. Got the tofu redang and some vegetarian soup on carry out, lemon grassy, fragrant and creamy from the coconut milk. Huge portions and reasonable too.

As other reviewers have stated, the location is small and in a strip mall. The owner is very nice and the food has been delicious both times I have eater here. I tried both the chicken and beef rendang and the curry puffs. The chicken rendang was my favorite and I got it very spicy which was nice with the... More

I wish our experience matched the reviews on TripAdvisor, but it did not live up to the hype. The owner was rather nice, the server was helpful and the environs seemed clean, very humble and really small. Most diners seem to get their food "to go," and that might be preferable. But often the best Asian food seems to appear... More

Kalamazoo's best kept secret. Don't be fooled by the outside this place is top notch. Try the Beef Rang Dang, its amazing with complex flavors (meat and potatoes) Owner operated and they are always there. Not exactly the most hospitable bunch but they do what they do great. Always filled with Indonesian students probably looking for mommas cooking and finding... More

No matter what I get there, it always tastes great! Reasonably priced, lots of food. Do not be deceived by the outside, the food is top notch. My favorite is the tofu curried with coconut milk and lemongrass.

Yet another Kalamazoo secret. Yet another restaurant you're going to walk right by unless someone has told you about it. Rasa Ria is a tiny restaurant near WMU and they do mostly takeout business. You're welcome to dine in if there is a table available, but don't expect any kind of ambiance. You eat at Rasa Ria's for the authentic... More

Their 'Beef Rendang' is awesome and flavorful! Plenty of choices between Malaysian or Indonesian food. Tried most of it and it's yummy!! Regular eating place for me and my family. I don't mind going there everyday :) Reasonable place, friendly people. Check it out!!

I was a student @ WMU from 2001 - 2007. Since they open for business, this place has been a regular for Malaysian and Indonesian students - I guess that explains it all. Why wouldn't we go to a regular Chinese Restaurant that often? The reason is simple - those Asian restaurants out there are not Authentic. Tips for a... More

This place is all about the food, the cuisine is sort of a mix of Thai and Indian...it is familiar but unique at the same time. The standard menu items are very good, but the specials are what really make this place special. If you like spicy, really, really, sinus draining, spicy, then the Chili Chicken on Thursday is not...
