My wife and I have visited the Onion Grille a couple times for drinks and finally decided to try the food. WOW! We started at the bar with a couple cocktails and the signature baked onion. The presenation was amazing and I've never had an appetizer that tasted like this anywhere else. We studied the menu at the bar before... More

Reading some of the reviews on here we were a little nervous about going here, but it must be a case-by-case basis because we really liked it. Gave it a "very good" rating because it doesn't compare to the Manny's and Oceanaires of the world, but for Hastings this is really good. We had the Buffalo Blue Chips, clam chowder,... More

The bread was so good that instead of dessert we had more bread. Our waitress was so friendly and even though they where very busy she was attentive and helpful. Our food was wonderful. We highly reccomend if you are going thru Hastings that you make this one of your dinner stops.

I've had wonderful appetizers here several times. This was the first time I (we) had a main entree. The sirloin was tough and tasteless. Walleye was not bad but again, not all that special.

Really liked the menu - a lot if effort to have unique food. My husband got the Knife and Fork Burger, a new addition, that was an open face burger with mozarella cheese and marinara sauce and sausages on top. He loved it! I had the chicken a la king which was just like my mother made - wonderful comfort... More

We just spent four months working with the owners and staff at the Onion Grill preparing for our daughter's wedding. We cannot speak highly enough about the experience. Throughout the planning there was never a time when they did not give 100% to help make the day everything we wanted. At the reception there was nothing but praise from all... More

I would like to respond to a negative review that was posted about the Walleye at The Onion Grille. I am the vendor that sells the WALLEYE to this establishment and it is a very bold statement to "assume" that they are using Zander! The owner of the Onion Grille is all about using quality ingredients and uses only Freshwater... More

Our first visit to The Onion Grille in downtown Hastings MN was a wonderful surprise. We absolutely will be returning to try the rest of the menu. The fresh dill in the homemade ranch dressing gave the opening salad that extra zest which we always hope for, but rarely find in so many suburban restaurants. The theme of fresh with... More

I have dined at The Onion Grille four times and have NEVER, EVER been served a bad dish. Their steaks are phenomenal, their sides are tremendous, especially the potatoes. Their carrots are done perfectly. Their soup is incredible. It is a full two notches above chains like houlihans. Unique decor including a cool train running around the perimeter. Price is... More

We went here on a recommendation while staying at the Classic Rosewood Inn and we're glad that we did. My wife and I both ordered the Walleye. They have it available in three different styles. We tried #2 and #3. I'm sure that #1 would be delicious as well. We also lucked out as we happened to be there on... More
