Description: Nestled in the Belhaven District of Jackson, Peter & Tamar Sharp invite you to experience Sophia’s Restaurant. Reminiscent of a French country bistro, the intimate dining room has a romantic atmosphere, with a garden-like setting and its own private entrance on the west side of the Inn. Chef Gary Hawkins selects fresh, regional ingredients and prepares them with his own eclectic flair, emphasizing local fresh seafood. Chef Hawkins also features a daily three and four-course priced fixed menu available for dinner with or without wines. Sophia’s offers full bar service and an extensive and affordable wine list. Before or after dinner relax with a small plate and craft cocktail at the Library Lounge. Recently opened, the Library Lounge offers small plates, micro brews, wine flights, and craft cocktails in a relaxing environment themed around Mississippi's literary legends.

The food was excellent for our Sunday Brunch. The setting is elegant and pleasant. The wait staff were pleasant and helpful but not particularly well trained, always reaching across in front of me to gather dirty plates rather than walking around the table. Our group of 7 with ages 5 to 75 will be back, if only for the gumbo... More

This was a quiet and pleasant restaurant. We enjoyed the food and evening. It was our first time in Jackson and this was a good choice.

We were visiting from out of town and Sophia's was recommended. The food was very good, but not as good as it should have been for the price. You don't have to spend this much money (or, perhaps you do in Jackson) to get a basic salad with a few nuts and slivers of apple, stale muffins and a small... More

We stayed at the Fairview Inn two nights and ate at Sophia's both nights. The first night the dinner was fabulous. The waitress was friendly and attentive. Based on that night it was excellent. The second night was the opposite. The food was OK but not great. The waitress was awful. She had a really bad attitude and the service... More

We ate here as part of our stay over Valentine's Day weekend. The service & food were superb. This is a special occasion meal worth enjoying as much as possible!

We dine at sophia's very often, my wife's favorite restaurant in Jackson. This restaurant offers a great southern cuisine. Nice and cozy ambiance, well attentive service with a hint of southern hospitality. Menu offers wide range of selection from small plates to well diverse entrées, my favorite is their BBQ pork belly to start and my wife couldn’t stop talking... More

We stayed at the Fairview Inn for 2 nights between Xmas and New Years and enjoyed our stay. We had dinner at Sophia's on Friday night and were one of 3 couples in the restaurant. Unfortunately, there was an engagement party going on in the room next door, complete with a brass band (tuba, trombone, trumpet and drums) as entertainment... More

This place is the ultimate in “Southern Charm.” Set in an antebellum home that also serves as a bed and breakfast and a spa, the service and food serve as a great example of the best of Mississippi. From the stately trees out front, to the big front porch, to the warm welcome inside— you almost expect to meet Eudora... More

We had our family Thanksgiving meal here and it was most enjoyable. In addition to the wonderful benefit of not having to cook and clean up, the food was delicious. The restaurant is located at the Fairview Inn in an older building. It has a quaint nostalgia about it reminiscent of the old South. I've never eaten here except for... More

Delicious, creative food; outstanding and friendly service. A special experience, well worth it. And, good for vegetarians who for once don't get short shrift at fine dining spot!!
