Seven years ago we bought a B&B in Andover, NH. Moving from NYC up to NH our greatest worries were the procurement of supplies guaranteeing for the quality of food we intended to serve our guests. A new neighbor suggested we meet with Franz, the owner of Bread and Chocolate. Since then I have bought about 1000 croissants a year,... More

That's all. Just eclairs. Just the best eclairs this side of the Atlantic with the most delectable cream filling you will ever encounter.

My daughter and stopped there and got a few things. The pastries all looked beautiful and we bought chocolate croissants, a ham and cheese croissant, fruit slice and a piece of german choc cake. The chocolate croissants were fabulous - my daugher said it was like eating a cloud. The dough was light and flaky - they were great. The... More

This is THE place to go for delicious cakes, scones, tarts, breads etc. Also great lunch sandwiches. Has small eating area. Seriously, the best bakery in the area.

Actually, I try to avoid this bakery and that is a compliment in a strange disguise. If I went there every time I wanted to, I would look like a blimp. I've never tried anything from Bread And Chocolate that was not excruciatingly delicious.

The owner is from Austria. Outside of never having enough chocolate croissants each day this place has the same quality food I've found in bakeries across Europe. The cakes are excellent but I recommend you special order to get the freshest product. Parking is a bit of a hassle if you just want to pop in and get out.

You'll know you've found the place when you see the line backed up to — and even out of — the door. The lunch-time fare is that good. But it's the standing-in-line that's so frustrating: you have enough time to notice that there's just one person helping the customers. Meanwhile, the owner and kitchen staff seem clueless that there's a... More

Good pastries and coffee, wonderful aromas and has a very European ambiance. Nice place to stop with a friend for a visit.

A cute little bakery that also serves sandwiches for lunch time. Their signature bread and chocolate is a must try, and I also have found a love for their spinach croissants- gotta get there early to get one of those though! Interior is cute and quaint with minimal seating. Also attached to a bookshop so you can go browse after... More

Franz is an expert baker in the Austrian style. His cakes are rich and flavorful, his pastries are beautiful and delicious. I am less fond of his breads, which can have a very thick hard crust, compared with the French style, thinner crispy crust. His fruit tart is my "go to" dessert for company
