Description: Pastaio is the Italian word for "pasta maker" which reflects our Chef's experience working as Pastaio for restaurants in New York including Eataly, where she would turn out roughly 3,000 pounds weekly. We now bring fresh handmade pasta daily to the Jersey Shore incorporating the freshest seasonal ingredients to our menu that changes each week. At Pastaio we strive to support our local produce, fish and meat, purveyors on an organic and sustainable basis. Our Menu reflects our kitchen staff experience with classical french training and the bounty of the Garden State. We are proud to utilize Pat LaFrieda Meats of New York for our meat and poultry. Ask about having your next event in our Private Party Room which can accommodate up to 50. Gluten Free Meatballs and fresh Gluten Free Pasta Available.

Arrived for a late lunch about 2:30; there were several people eating at the outside tables and we chose to go inside. We were the only 'inside' patrons but 4 more people came after us and sat outside. Most of the inside tables had obviously been used for an earlier crowd and were being reset at the time of our... The food at Pastaio is wonderful. It is a great little local restaurant where you can enjoy a nice dining experience. You are not rushed, you can take your time and enjoy the food and the company. All the food is prepared freshly for each diner. We were there with two other couples who enjoyed it immensely. It is in... More

Read all the reviews and frankly do not get it? Not that the food is bad, nice appetizers and nice selection of entrees. Howerer, they are way overpriced and very small portion. In addition, I would excpect better service for these prices. Service was SO SLOW. almost 3 Hours???? basic, service like refilling water glasses were ignored. Fresh pasta? big... More

The restaurant is quaint with a nice vibe. We were greeted upon arrival, seated and explained the menu...which was a nice touch. However, that is where things got interesting. For a party of two with an appetizer and two entrees, it took over 3 hours. I am all for enjoying a nice meal, but the wait time was excessive. After... More

After reading the reviews I really can’t believe patrons like Pastaio. The only thing I can think of is the owners and owner’s friends are posting their own reviews. I have been to this restaurant during the single store front dining area and back twice with the expanded dining area. Friends brought me there three times in total and I... More

Every dish we selected from this short and carefully edited menu was outstanding. Quite amazing to be able to have pasta made by a real expert outsite NYC. My only complaint is that the portion sizes were so generous that I wasn't able to order one of 15 or so gelatos for dessert. The menu changes weekly so one can't... More

We like to try new restaurants during Jersey Shore Restaurant Week. Normally, there is a special 'Restaurant Week' menu, and a regular menu. When we asked for the JSRW menu, the waiter didn't know anything about it. The owner came over, and in hushed tones, told us the items with an asterisk on the menu were the choices. Thirty dollars... Everything from our appetizers to our desserts was wonderful. We had a fresh mozzarella appetizer that perfectly seasoned and two wonderful pasta dishes...all fresh, homemade pasta...wonderful! I would recommend and return when I'm in Spring Lake again.

My mother and I have been coming to Spring Lake for 12 years, and this is by far the best food and ambience we've found so far. We ate here both nights of our weekend! The pasta is fantastic, the sauces are flavorful and not heavy. The interior decoration is tasteful and has a bit of the Brooklyn farm-to-table aesthetic.... More

You have never experienced pasta like this in your life. It melts in your mouth. Everything we tasted was amazingly delicious. The meatballs, and you get 2, are as big as your fist. The waiter recommended some appetizers and we, 5 of us, shared 2 and they were super. To start with, your waiter brings you bread, warm, with this incredible... More
