Maybe it’s a little overrated, maybe not. We went during a Cinco de Mayo festival in the town of Old Mesilla. We actually read about the restaurant in our local paper in Atlanta. They have a claim to fame of being the first Mexican restaurant to bring out free chips & salsa to each table. That caught on. The food... More

Growing up in Las Cruces we ate at La Posta from time to time. It was "touristy" at best, but a good way to show guests part of our history. Today I would tell you the food is Great., Authentic, and the restaurant is clean. Try it, you,'ll be impressed. I like the red enchiladas with an egg, and guacamole.... More

We love the historic village and the buildings of La Posta, which was chosen as the restaurant for a recent US Naval ship launch!

The Mexican food in New Mexico is different than most Mexican food. This is some very excellent New Mexican food in a really nice environment and historic building. The food is some of the best in the Las Cruces area, second only to Chope's in Las Mesa. Service can be spotty. The Griggs family was legendary for their restaurants in... More

We've been to La Posta several times now. Consistently excellent. Not a better atmosphere to be found. Numerous courtyards. Some of the best salsa ever created. Traditional and modern renditions of your favorite Mexican flair. Loved La Posta

We ate dinner here and thought it was just okay. Service was average, food was not especially good - had to ask for sauce as the Mexican food was dry.

The atmosphere and setting of this landmark would have made it worth the visit even if the food had been mediocre. Instead, I gorged on some of the most flavorful Mexican food I've ever encountered. The service was friendly and attentive, if not as memorable as the food or restaurant itself. I think I could spend a half hour just... More

The food was great and the service was fast. We even went on a busy fiesta weekend. The green chili enchiladas and tacos were very good. Can't wait to try it again!

Food and service--excellent! Old Mexico feel was amazing and the parrotts were entertaining. The history in the old building was not just educational but mystical to a point. We bring in friends from near and from as far is Europe. Love it!

My husband, son, and I stopped here on our way to Carlsbad. Huge portions. I had the Combination Plate #1. It included an excellent tamale (flavorful corn wrapping around gently spiced pork), tender, cubed pork meat on the side drenched in red sauce, and a large helping of pinto beans - all of it very flavorful and tasty. My husband... More
